Haven't you heard? MS laid off most of it's QA staff. They're basically leaving testing to the end user, that's why they gone out of their way to implement telemetry. Windows will never be final from now on, it'll remain in a perpetual alpha state, as new and new untested updates are installed forcibly.

  3. The console performs bad: Let's promote cross platform with the PC

They work by a set of keywords if the problem description has some specific trigger words they follow a specific per-determined set of instructions. They don't even try to understand the problem, just look at the words. So be aware not to try to explain the problem to them, because if you include a trigger word that may result in unexpected and undesired consequences.

To be no monetary incentives in it. You can remove the current government with torches and pitchforks, but the next one will become just as corrupt as the current in no time. It's the game that is rigged, it's not the players fault.

  10. Incorrect on Ask Slashdot: What Happens If We Perfect Age Reversing? · · Score: 1

Earth is not overpopulated. The distribution of goods and services is what's broken. We could feed house and take care of everyone if we applied our current knowledge instead of using the market system, which hinders progress, is wasteful, and inherently corrupt. And you can stop people from giving birth, you need good education. Responsible parents never have more children than they can properly take care of.

  11. But why do we want to find a job for the masses? on The Software Revolution · · Score: 2

Nobody needs a job, what they need food and a roof to live under. Instead of focusing on thumping up new meaningless jobs, we should redistribute the jobs that actually still needs humans. If new technology makes 10 out of 20 people redundant instead of firing 10 people make them work half as much. Of course this isn't viable in our "economic system". But then again, if we constantly find that the right thing to do is usually in contradiction with the system, then isn't it the system that is broken? A system that needs rules and laws and oversight commitess and oversight for oversight comittes to keep it from destroying itself is not a system worth keeping. Of course there is one very big problem with changing the system. The few that are well off in the current system have absolutely no interest in change. And the ones who are suffering or less well off, have no power to instigate any form of change.

If she already wants to be a princess, there is no way you can suddenly change that. She wants to be a princess because of all the children's crap she was exposed to until now. Fairy tales and such bullshit. We feed so many lies and crap to our children no wonder they grow confused. And it's still considered the sensible thing to do. We lie so much to our children and we don't understand why they start to hate us when they become able of more critical thoughts and don't just believe everything mommy says. We think we lie because they couldn't understand the truth. But it's still better if they get the truth and can't fully understand it than feeding them some insidious lie. Yes you'd think it's harmless enough with your decades of life experience, but when the child finds out about them their world crumples and they can start learning everything all over again. If you want your children to be clever, don't lie to them, and don't feed them fairytales.

  13. Selective avaialibilty is still a thing on The Plane Crash That Gave Us GPS · · Score: 2

As someone who uses GPS technology extensively for work, I have to say, that selective avaialibilty is still very much in action. The US can I assume at a push of a button distort the data avaialable. Or is it coincidence that the data reliability is at times very unreliable near Ukraine since the crisis? Not as much to throw off consumer gps navigation devices, but enough to render GPS based targeting systems useless I'd say.

"Fuck multiplayer. Other people are too shitty to play with." Exactly this, if I play videogames I want to switch off and enjoy myself, and not deal with the exact same jerks^2 I deal with with IRL. And the obvious "play with your friends then". Nope, even they become jerks in a competitive environment, as do I, I'm no exception from this rule. And another issue with "play with friends" is synchronizing your free time with said friends. But if you plan ahead, you end up playing just because it was decided 2 weeks before, and not because you actually want to play at that moment.

  15. Re:Read much on BBC: ISPs Should Assume VPN Users Are Pirates · · Score: 1

This issue is not about BBC's opinion on VPN. The bigger picture is that their (and so many others) thinking is completely backwards, they want to block and ban potential customers, instead of simply serving them. It's like going into a store where they refuse to serve you because your permanent address is not an UK one.

  16. This is absurd on BBC: ISPs Should Assume VPN Users Are Pirates · · Score: 2

The mere thought that a content provider wants to ban and restrict consumers is absurd to me. They should provide content that's equally accessible by everyone, no exceptions, and no bans based on your location in the world. For example I was abroad during the world cup, and I wanted to watch it, but I couldn't because my very own country's provider didn't let me because I connected using a foreign IP. But this is exactly the time I'd use a streaming service, when I can't access to my regular cable subscription. It feels to me that they're trying to hold on to values and methods that worked 20 years ago. They could get away with separating continents then (barely). But the internet is global, the world is global, you cannot restrict me from accessing the content I want to. Or you can, but it will force me to look for other sources. (torrent, circumventing geoban, etc). The answer is so obvious, why not let everyone have easy access to the content for a modest fee? I'd gladly pay, but don't please don't think a restrictive poor quality ad riddled online player will do.

  17. I can never wrap my head around this. on Seattle Approves $15 Per Hour Minimum Wage · · Score: 1

In my country a 15$/hour wage would be a dream come true for most. I work at a large firm, and I'm one of the best paid employees of the company, and even I get paid less than that. And the actual prices are not significantly different than in the US. Some things cost more, some things cost less. For example an US Gallon of petrol is about 6.6USD right now. So how in the word is it possible that in the US 15/hour is barely a living wage? How wasteful a life are you living there seriously?
