I thought it was humorous that as I was scrolling through threads, I saw one that said "Made up problem" right below yours that said "Increasing problem."
His post had plenty of useful facts from someone with farming experience and a worthwhile suggestion for improvement.
Your post, on the other hand, had a lot of unsupported evidence, broad generalizations, fear of an unknown danger, and, of course, a mention of the harm human progress has done to nature.
Next time, if you don't know anything about a topic, just sit quietly.
Just like cars, refrigerators and houses, the quality of what you purchase is not perfect.
Just like Carroll Smith says in "Engineer to Win," if you were a member of my race car team and said that, I would fire you. I would expect my engineers and technicians to strive for perfection, not just say "We can never reach perfection, so don't get mad if something goes wrong." I would expect excellence because a catastrophic failure could kill the driver of the car.
Expect more. Get it done.

I'm just trying to make sure I'm catching all the people who dont see the difference between corperate america, and a system that actually helps humans
What system that helps humans do you propose we use? What are we getting into? Your posts seem to be alluding to some secret that everyone knows about the evil of capitalism, but you never state it or how we can fix it. What's going on here?
How do you stop [terrorism in retaliation to our new military]?
Annhilate the terrorists, their parent organizations, and any countries that support terrorists. It will take a stronger response than we are giving right now.
No, I think I read too much Thoreau and Rand. Subjectivism and skepticism really make no sense to me and I don't see how they exist without a solid foundation. I'm no philosopher and don't subscribe to Objectivism, but I ran across a good article on the Rand Institute site that tries to bring philosophy back to ideas that make sense.

It might be a good starting point for anyone who (like me) was incredulous when no one argued against the original post. Walking around without a solid basis to life would scare me. Of course, wishing something doesn't make it true, so I'll continue to learn to prove it.
It probably got marked as troll because it's over-generalized without a lot of facts to back it up. The phrase "any objective person can see.." isn't proof of your statements.
"They will think you are a total fruit-loop.." Why?
"...the laboring man has not leisure for a true integrity day by day; he cannot afford to sustain the manliest relations to men; his labor would be depreciated in the market. He has no time to be anything but a machine." -Thoreau
"I simply buy from indie labels. At least then, I'm sure that the artist gets most of my money."
Are you sure? How do you know? Indie labels may or may not be much different. I'd like some proof.
I like buying CDs from touring bands because it gives them enough money for gas and food to get through the tour!

Yep. I don't know what trendy pop concerts these guys go to (if they've even been to any) but punk and hardcore bands typically charge $10 to get in, $10 for their CDs, and $10 for shirts. Want to know where their enormous profits go? Gas money.
This is just another ignorant post from a geek who thinks he knows everything.
Tell us about your cars. How many do you have and when did you buy them? What are some notable modifications on them? What do you plan on buying or modifying next?

Hahah, great post. You had me going about halfway through, then I started laughing out loud.
It seems like everybody here is flying off the handle over what really is nothing.
Our Internet-civil-rights friends flying off the hook? No, never..

Hehe gotcha!
Sorry, that was mean.
Is this some kind of philosophy troll?

I dislike this thinking. What ever happened to truth and reason? Why can't I walk outside and know that a rock will never turn into a bird?

Yeah, slavery was A-OK! This is why social consensus is not used to determine morality.
I thought information wanted to be free. Stop hoarding.
I know I'll be buying a new computer just for Doom 3. It's petty, but I love that series.
Cool.
:)
So, uh.. take it easy
Do you ever start to update your website and think, "You know, I'm just going to have a beer and watch some TV"?
Exactly what I was thinking. Where are the facts?
