    This is a site in a location where most of the power is from coal fired generators.
    Totally lacking in foresight.
    What happens when coal generation is banned in a few years?

    1) The existing distribution system failed, and ceded electronic sales to 1 party: Apple.
    Once all the other minor players are killed off Apple will eat the RIAA.

    2) The paid distribution model is doomed in any case.
    Drive away enough customers and they will find other things to do, other places to get music, and, most importantly,
    they will ignore your promotions.
    Once the consumers dictate the fashion, the distributors become irrelevant.

    Well, this is obvious:
    As Dell is already to be known as being in Intels pocket,see teh voluntary payment of over $100 Million regarding the lies about disclosing the payment of rebates.

    Intel could not buy AMD as it would get blocked, and the PR optics would be horrible

    This provides a clean exit for all concerned.
    Intel controls Dell, which controls AMD

    Intel gets the AMD GPU tech and some patent licenses.

    They spin the AMD parts as the low end in desktops.

    Dell gets an insurmountable lead over HP , at least until Intel cuts a bigger deal with Chinese manufacturers.

    Most importantly for both, the price competition for CPUs is over.
    And will never return.

    That is "Bussard" , after Prof. Robert W. Bussard, who postulated it first:

    Problem is that it does not gather enough fuel at lower velocities, so is not much good "in system".
    Collecting dust also has a price in terms of drag.

    True, and more and more, we see that without the big names like Red Hat, Oracle, Ubuntu, etc. paying developers to code this,it is not easy for a project like this to progress effectively.
    However, we shall see what transpires with Libre Office.. If Oracle manage to muck that transition up, perhaps there is still a place for K Apps.

    At first glance, you might think "Flamebait"

    Fair enough, however:

    After the past 2 years of endless unstable and uselessly incomplete releases,
    who the heck uses KDE any more?

    The lack of coherency make it such a nightmare to support, that vendors who pre-load Linux,
    like Hard Data or even Dell, will no longer provide a KDE environment as a supported platform.

    It is telling that both Red Hat and Ubuntu install Gnome as their default.

    It is pretty obvious that the reason men lean to the Android side is that more men actually do some product research before buying.
    As a result they find that the Android choice is technically better and offers some freedom of choice.
    Whereas a lot of women go with the standard "Apple stuff is easy"

    Kind of the Barbie Doll "Math is hard" schtick.

    Most phones on most OS types do not get security updates.
    Not a function of the OS, and Is a function, or lack thereof, by the phone provider, who are usually the telco for wireless services.
    And their argument often is:
    "We provided the phone, as is, and "free" to you.
    We owe you nothing."

    Again, not unusual.

    And then one notices the source:
    Scientists? No.
    A public employees labour Union.
    And where do they spend their political funds?
    Opposing the incumbent party.
    It all boils down to the people with the political agenda having the loudest voices.

    Let's just say it would all be much better to them if the government in power was the NDP.
    At least they think so!

    I have a Nexus One.
    Flash works just fine.
    There is also the YouTube app, which runs if you do not have Flash.
    There is no discernible difference.
