    Background tasks (such as the weather forcast downloader and the traffic alerts on my Treo) don't flatten the battery noticable more than before. Why does the iPhone get neutered?

    My sister had a Win 3.1 machine with WP 5.1 on. She used it for everything. Including editing AUTOEXEC.BAT ... "But the example had all the keywords in bold, and I can't do that in notepad."

    My boss was trying to use Excel from Office 2007 - paste some text in a cell and align center. After half an hour he gave up and called tech support down (=me). If a guy who lives in Outlook and IE can't do that, it's a failure.

    More like the authorities arm and fund them. This technology doesn't catch terrorists - never has and never will - it doesn't even try to, it's just good for moving tax dollars into "security industry" profits. Much cheaper in the short and the long term just to not fund "freedom fighters"(=terrorists) in the first place.

    Can't use U238 for fuel. It's all being shot into Iraqi trucks. Once the oil runs out we'll have to go back to dig the spent rounds up again.

    And some more anecdotal evidence... Running 10.5 on a MacBook since ~3 days after release. 2 kernel panics. Both times while running TimeMachine over wireless to an AFP share on a Thecus 2100. Wireless? FS layer?? Me enabling unsupported devices in TimeMachine??? Overall, wouldn't go back, but still feels a bit "NT4sp0"

    Such an icon would have limited applicability.
    Anything concerning the the RIAA could still contain the "foot" part, but the "gun" would have to be large and belt fed.

    Prison is meant to serve 3 purposes:
    1) Vengance. (What's justice but a moderation of revenge to sane levels?)
    2) Protection. (It's hard to do a crime when you're doing time. And deterrence is protection, too.)
    3) Rehabilitation. ('Nuf said.)
    Sometimes these conflict. In the case of murder, usually society needs protection from future offenders, rather than past ones. So the terms for murderers are long as a deterrence.
    In the case of this granny, deterrence is weakened if someone is seen to "get away with it".
