    You know, the funny thing is, nobody, not even the french, were disputing the existence of WMD in Iraq before the war.

    They were pushing awful hard for more inspections. Iraq is a big pretty barren country. It is going to take time to find the damn stuff.

    A lot of things clear up and are built upon in the next two books. The beginning of "Red" kind of blew, but it does get better.

    I just bought "Years of Rice and Salt" to read camping next week. It is an alternate history by Robinson about the Black Death killing 99% of Europe, instead of 1/3, and the Muslim, Asian and Native Americans ruling the world.

    I have been looking for a remote control that incorporates an SMS type thumb keyboard and a pointing device (mini trackball?). I've seen one with a trackball and a slew of buttons, but no keyboard.

    Living room computers really need something like this. Buttons are great, but for typing a URL, you need a keyboard.

    The bacteria that killed the lizards had to have a cold cycle (winter) to reproduce. It died off in the southern regions and the lizards came back.

    I guess it never occured to the resistance to re-seed the southern regions...

    "Off Topic" is a total bullshit moderation. NOTHING should be considered off topic.

    I wish to hell the powers that be would replace it. An "Unfunny" or "Not Funny" would be better. The not funny mod type would work great for instances when a poster was trying to be funny, but was stupid instead.

    If you ever meta moderate you will note than "Funny" mods can be rated funny to unfunny.

    Much more useful than "Off Topic".

    It depends on the state and prison system. Inmates have used riots and lawsuits to get cable.

    I think some prisons get cable just to keep the prisoners electronically tranquilized.
