Humans are just better to deal with. I was "encouraged" by a store clerk to use the self-check once - the store clerk broke the 18 kg bag of dog food - what a mess. It would have been quicker to just do what I always do - use the human cashier. Friendlier too.
We're already seeing companies like walmart doing the "job-sharing" thing, hiring people only part-time so that they have to get food stamps to eat. The only thing that would prevent that would be to lower the number of hours to be considered as full time, and then walmart will just go from 20-some-odd hours a week part time employees to 15-hour-a-week part time employees.
Help digital artists escape so that they can display their sh*t? Put me first in line, I'll leave them inside to starve to death and save google inflicting yet another mindless stupidity on the world. Don't worry about the bodies - google will dispose of them when they cancel the project, same as every other cancelled project.
Not me. I've lead protests, I've been in other protests, I've picketed, I've run for office. Plus meeting with various politicians to discuss issues, which rates far below the other things I've named, and barely above starting a petition on-line.
Electronic petitions aren't worth the paper they're written on. Can't even use them to line a bird cage.
Don't forget, she's not doing the exercises you're doing, and her waist is probably bigger than your chest by now - it was claimed to be 49" back in 2014. Plus, fat weighs less than muscle. If it were muscle instead of fat, her weight would be MUCH higher.
blah blah blah... sex changes reduce the number of deaths among transsexuals, so it's something that other transsexuals should emulate, for their own health. Being so obese that you are too fat to be considered "only" morbidly obese is not someone who anyone should aspire to be. Super obese is something we instinctively react negatively to, the same as anorexic, because part of us instinctively recognizes these as being VERY unhealthy states.
So, instead of making false comparisons, show what the benefits are of being classified as super obese, or STFU, mkay?
Problem is, a college education won't be a guarantee of a job by then. Supply and demand - and when you try to pump everyone through college, without significantly increasing the number of jobs available for college grads (because those jobs are also being automated), a college degree won't be worth the debt it costs to get it.
Except that it's not a straight-up comparison between the employee and the machine. When the machine doesn't make fries, it's idle. When the employee doesn't make fries, they're cleaning, etc.
Sorry, but the system that came with windows pre-installed doesn't have a dvd burner, and attempts to install various other OSes onto a USB key failed, so no way to boot from another OS and then install it.
BTW - most of the posts on her facebook page agree that it's stupid to popularize being not just obese, or even morbidly obese, but super obese. She has a bmi of 46.6. We no longer let models be anorexic, why are we promoting this?
The smart thing would be for her to get her stomach stapled. Of course, she can't do that because the only talent she has is being really, really fat. She's doomed.
The default for data sharing with the mother ship cannot be changed in consumer versions. And eventually they will require you to connect to the mother ship on a regular basis just to revalidate the OS.
READ the privacy policy you agreed to. It gives them all these rights. Everywhere. It is not against privacy laws to publish your private data if YOU made it public, stupid.
I gave change.org a big f.u. because it simply is not the motivator for the changes that do occur, despite what the petition starters like to claim. I got sick and tired of continuous updates that were meaningless. "Oh, we met with so-and-so politician." BFD. Did anything change? No? Then don't waste my time.
Most people just sign it and they're done. And often the petition is so one-sided it's stupid. Or full of misinformation, like wanting to boycott GMO foods because Frankenfood.
Commitment from petition signers? You are so naive. Look at the million people who said they were going to boycott target over their trans-friendly bathroom policy. They're not even following through. They're still shopping at Target (and if they did boycott places with trans-friendly bathroom policies, they'd also be boycotting Walmart, McDonalds, and most national chains).
"Numbers at election time count" is another lie. Voters count. People who actually vote, not people who just sign petitions. You really want to change things, you ignore the politicians and go through the courts. Why suck up for something that can be changed by the next person elected when you can get a judge to tell them F.U. ? Petitions are for wimps who don't even have the guts to do protests because they might get arrested.
I have zero respect for petitions. Action speaks louder than words. Picket, protest, run against the incumbents, sue. Those are actions that earn respect (plus they're all an absolute blast to do).
You don't "have complete control over open source solutions." Not unless you're ready to devote time going over the code yourself and understand what you're doing. And even then...
First, dBase/xBase is not a proprietary language. Hasn't been for decades (ask anyone who used Clipper).
Second, the original executables work just fine today under dosbox, and there's no reason not to expect them to.
Third, updated releases are still being made, though not by ashton-tate or borland. dBASE 10.3 can be had from dbase llc, and they work under Windows 64bit.
Fired it up a couple of years ago under linux using dosbox - uses 16 meg of ram just like the manuals (which I still have) said it would. Gotta love programs that just keep on working:-)
Give it up already. If the law says I'm a woman, and my birth certificate says I'm a woman, and everyone around me treats me like a woman, who am I to disagree?
The big yellow box around articles you that were added when you were on another tab, silly. Read what you wrote:
New articles appear underneath the top text advert and have a big yellow box around them.
- Clicking titles to article just opens a new Slashdot front page, not the article.
The "top text advert" is singular. the "New articles" and "a big yellow box around them" are plural.
Also, "Clicking titles to article" doesn't refer to the advert either.
So, it's your reply that is the waste of time, since you suddenly don't seem to know what the difference between articles with titles and ads. Or you're just complaining for the sake of complaining.
We're talking about McDonalds... without worker spit their food would have no taste whatsoever.
And then there's the "secret sauce." Yuck!
Humans are just better to deal with. I was "encouraged" by a store clerk to use the self-check once - the store clerk broke the 18 kg bag of dog food - what a mess. It would have been quicker to just do what I always do - use the human cashier. Friendlier too.
Doesn't matter - as long as it reacts to pain, the pro-life crowd will say you can never terminate it.
I notice how the burden is still on the woman in your scheme.
You're wrong. If you eliminate all other government spending (like you said), then taxes could go down by half a trillion, not rise to double.

So who's the real slacker here?

New articles = plural
The text advert = singular
Big yellow box around them - plural.
The big yellow box is around THEM (the articles) - plural, not the top ext advert, singular. Your own words.
Not my fault if you forgot what you wrote when you tried to go for snark and failed.

Stop using the Facebook app!
Move out of the USA. It's only enabled for United States users :-)

Bull and shit.
