The results aren't that different - try it some time. And a lot of people who got used to the original meters don't realize just how little blood you need with today's test strips and glucometers.
From the number of accidents, a lot of people can't use GPS while driving, no matter where it is in the vehicle. Looking at the GPS screen to figure out where you are takes a lot more time than people imagine.
" as the World Bank reports, is the affordable used product essential to establish a critical mass of users so that investment in highways, phone towers, and internet cable can find necessary consumers?"
We went from zero cars to millions without phone towers and internet. We had roads before the concept of the highway or the interstate. It was pressure from too many cars that justified the paving over of roads. Maybe what we should be doing is not continually siphoning off their best and brightest for our own use. The "brain drain" is real, and it means those communities have lost the time, effort, and funds they've put into their education system to other countries rather than seeing the benefits at home. Ditto the skills drain. And so the cycle of poverty is repeated.
Then this isn't for you, since once you get the sample it has to be "mailed off to a lab for analysis". You could be in a coma by the time you get the results back.
And you can stick pretty much anywhere that can bleed with the finger stick - they're just called finger sticks out of habit. Try it.
True, but that's been proven to be just as distracting. And worse, most people with bluetooth don't even use it - "Too much of a hassle" - "I'll only be a few seconds (which is several hundred feet)" - "Haven't got caught yet" - "I'll duck my head low so that the cops can't see I'm using it while I'm driving"
Here it's an offense even to even have the phone in your hand while driving - and they've just upped it to 4 demerit points. So no, unless the phone is in some sort of a mount, you can't use it as a GPS while driving. Pull over to the side of the road and take the time to figure out where you are so you don't cause an accident.
They warn that "because the genetic changes to embryos, known as germline modification, are heritable, they could have an unpredictable effect on future generations."
I guess they mean if the children don't inherit the disease, DrugCo's profits will fall.
You're forgetting all the kids who are already addicted to Pepsi and Coke. And those who are not addicted, but drink it. And eat chocolate bars. And soft drinks you wouldn't think contain caffeine, such as Barq's Root Beer, Sunkist orange soda, and A&W cream soda. Lots of caffeine out there for the younger generation. Add to that the adults drinking caffeine-laden soft drinks, energy drinks, coffee, tea, "decaf" coffee, diet pills, over-the-counter pain relievers such as Excedrin Migraine tablets, and the 85% figure starts to look a bit on the low side.
Google is already in trouble with the EU. This latest tactic is the sort of stuff that even a convicted monopolist like Microsoft wouldn't pull because it would justifiably piss off a lot of their customers. So why does Google do it? Because it proves once again the people who use google services aren't their "customers". Google is an advertising business. You're just eyeballs that google sells to their customers.
Again, he is providing the housing to people who work in the area and who otherwise would not be able to live in the area - police, teachers, firefighters, nurses, etc.
So what if they "can't afford million dollar houses"? He's fixing it so they CAN afford to live in million dollar houses if they wish. More power to him.
If it wasn't properly posted, the reporter would have been screaming about how it wasn't properly posted, not about the tow company itself.
People just don't think it applies to them, or that "it's just for a few minutes" - like people who aren't handicapped parking in handicapped spaces or people who park in fire lanes and no parking zones or reserved parking spaces. And often their "just a few minutes" turns into the better part of an hour. Of course they're going to be peeved off - they've just had the fact that they are not "special" rubbed in their face.
If you're only using a handful of sites, it's easier (and more bandwidth-friendly) to just download their apps (if they're not crappy). This way, you're not downloading all the css, javascript, and standard graphics every day.
The problem is that since IQ is a scale with the average arbitrarily set to 100, if everyone is, on average, more (or less) intelligent, the average IQ will still be 100. In a society with roots doing more and more work, few and fewer jobs, it won't matter how educated you are - there will be an over-supply of people with that same education (already happening, btw). Population reduction is only a partial solution, and we'd have to do that anyway even if we had zero robots.
So basically, they're pulling a Steve Balmer?
So you say. By your logic there is nothing wrong with me using Windows 2000 or OS 9 either.
Maybe you;d have an argument if t weren't for the fact that even supported OSes get b0rked on a regular basis.
These are users who didn't shell out for Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1. Do you really think they're going to pay the oh-shiny-apple-tax?

Headline: "Traffic App Waze To Alert L.A. Drivers of Kidnappings and Hit-and-Runs"
Someone seems to have forgotten that using a cell phone while driving is illegal.
Everyone knows that water is wet. You compared this to announcing that water is wet.
Ice is the solid form of water, and it most certainly isn't wet.
Personally I hope that she gets tied up in lawsuits based off this for the rest of her miserable life.
Getting brain cancer would be karma.
Once the germ line is altered, they can't just "turn it off." It's not like when you don't pay your exorcist and get re-possessed.
That's easy - since their genes are modified, we'll just declare them to not be humans.

If she hadn't been, she would have been threatening to sue when she threw her hissy fit, not insulting the employee..
Stupid coworkers are still stupid on speed.
Yes, but they get stupid faster and stay stupid longer. Give them time, they'll become manager material.

Just make it so that you have to hold stock for a minimum period of time before you sell it.
