China steals tech, and they want to develop its industries in all fields. Such as stealing wind turbine tech from American Superconductor, high speed rail tech from Japan, France, and Germany, and car tech from the major car manufacturers.
Well, what do you expect? Like a lot of Americans, they believe we stole the tech from aliens in Area 52.
After looking at 252 comments, I don't see anyone talking about any future step-dad, or that the wife may (probably / hopefully) re-marry. Annual / special occasion videos, etc., will inevitably draw contrasts between you and your "replacement." And tear open wounds rather than let them heal. Live for the time you have with both of them now - the future will take care of itself.
You might consider video taping your reaction/commentary as if you were there for possible moments in moments to major events that happen to most of us. Wedding, New Job, Graduation from High School, Graduation from College, Birth of a child, etc.
Society is changing too fast for that to work. Example: 10 years ago, you would assume that if she were getting married, it would be to a man. Nowadays, not so much. So, leaving a video congratulating her on her new husband would come off as a faux pas, or even judgmental. Ditto for new job, when it's possible that the conventional notion of "jobs" will disappear by the time she's ready for the job market. Birth of a child? What if the adopts? Graduation from college? With a huge debt load and few prospects? It will come off as fake boosterism.
Just give her your old mp3s. Plenty of music comes back in style every generation. Even after Mick Jagger is dead and pickled, he'll still be touring.

Animals are better at communicating when it comes to predator/prey than humans are. They can detect us further away, and flee en masse, same as birds flocking. Or if you're a herd of elephants, just form a circle with heads out and say the equivalent of "do you really want a piece of this"? For most of our human's existence, we were scavengers, same as the vulture and the hyena, because we couldn't compete.
Any group of humans that got too large to be sustained in it's area would end up attacking each other. If the group was too large, the energy spent continuously going to new foraging grounds would be more than the return, so again, they would turn on each other. Yes, I mean Donner Party style. We still see indications of this today, because humans are more aggressive towards each other than towards other animals. It's a survival trait, because the existence of too many humans in one group until recently always meant starvation.
A machine that crashes and has to be booted because of bad OS code is doing a denial-of-service attack on itself. How does that not affect overall security and the integrity of your data?
