    I used to celebrate every day NT didn't crash. Now life is incredibly boring because we switched to Linux and it hasn't crashed... except once because of the experimental smp support in the old kernel, that was almost a year ago now...

    The power went out for an extended period of time once and we had a few servers go down because of it, that was exciting!

    Seriously, Linux is far more stable than NT. I'm not saying NT is worthless, I'm sure it's good for some things.

    You can read DVD disks in linux, you just can't play DVD movies because we have no drivers/software for the decoder cards.

    Don't be so close minded, at the end Vader turns back to the good side and kills the emperor. He is completely purged of evil! Just because you or I, as the pathetic creatures we are, may not be capable of such forgiveness does not mean that he isn't deserving of it.

    Brin is an idiot to make such comparisons. He says on his homepage that he writes science fiction now instead of real science because he makes more money that way. What a great guy!

    I don't like the fact that 3dfx is doing this, but I have to say I don't feel bad for Creative Labs because Creative Labs is going to key the wrapper so it will only work with their cards. That makes them no better than 3dfx. At least 3dfx put in the work to make glide in the first place.

    I do hope Creative Labs wins in court though, then maybe other will be able to make wrappers without being threatened by 3dfx.

    nVidia kicks ass for releasing open source drivers! I wish other companies would be that cool!

    My co-worker/friend and I went to the ApacheCon conference, RedHat was there... We walked to their booth, they were just about the only people there who didn't try to get us to buy anything...

    On top of that, they said "hey, take this"... Free RedHat 5.1 CDs. They had a whole bunch, so we asked if we could have a few more. They said, "sure!"

    They never in any way said that RedHat was the best distro or anything... but the SUSE guys did.

    Bullsh1t! Gee, I guess I've never seen a machine without serious hardware problems, but that doens't make sense, they never crash after installing linux on them. That's all that comes out of that place in Redmond! Pure bullshit!

    Nullsoft licensed AMP from Playmedia at first. Then Nullsoft wrote their own engine(Nitrate), now Playmedia is claiming Nullsoft stole code from the AMP engine.
