You're cheap then. The company I work for has 51 of us repairing computers at peoples homes. We charge $88/hr. And we have to much work, we need to hire another few techs.
Welcome our new KDE overlords and wish them luck in removing gnome from every other distrobution.
Humor (or lack there of) aside. KDE 3.4 made me return to KDE from XFCE. I had converted from using gnome and kde on various systems to everything XFCE for awhile now. KDE 3.4 is just amazing. I can see why Pat wouldnt have any problem removing gnome and putting in KDE 3.4.
Yeah, you hit it right on the nose. His ego is huge but unlike a lot of people with that problem, he gets things done and generally tries to be helpful where he thinks he can.
Of course I am bias being from dallas and a huge mavericks fan. What he did for the team was/is amazing...
You can see what he has done in nearly every business he has run. He has made it work, made it run smooth and gotten a lot of money for it when he sold it off. He took the mavericks and made them into a contending team instead of a team that never had a chance of making the playoffs let alone winning anything.
Its nice to see him getting in on this. He might be goofy and really into himself, but he is good at winning.
LS my friend, you have spent way to much time on this. I say this out of love. ANSI died long ago, in a land populated with wonderous things called BBSs. Those beasts died off though, and were replaced...
How about the first move they make is returning a domain they stole from my friend, that was hosted on my server? Buying off the people at the ICANN to get a domain transfered isnt very friendly. Would be a nice gesture to give it back. From what I understand he will soon be getting a lawyer and going after them anyways. It would be a really good pr move if they just handed it back instead of him having to waste tons of money in court.
What about the trademark cases that gave The Open Group unix.net and unix.org. unix.net was hosted on one of my servers and when it was STOLEN by The Open Group via an ICANN bribe (donation) we were very mad. As anyone would be im sure. So, if Appl wins, would there be a way to reverse that decision being that it was such a short time ago?
So, I am about to be homeless. I am begging. I have about 2 weeks left to make it up to $3400 in donations. Im at just under $1000. http://www.fongu.com/~gregg/ has most of the story and a paypal link. If anyone has any sympathy for me, go ahead and read it. If not, feel free to flaim me. I have nothing left but to beg though. So here I am.
Good little troll. But out in the real world, I would rather get the most preformance from my hardware. The binary only distros might install faster, but they are dog slow in comparison.
You seem to be forgetting all the people that want a good distro, instead of a bloated corporate offering. I am in love with gentoo. I personally cant stand red hat or debian.
I dont see what you mean? Its got many people doing "real work" with it. Keeping up the ebuilds, working on portage and so on. It also has many users. I have switched all of my production and development servers to it. I know many others who have as well.
I imagine gentoo as the second coming of linux. It is so far and above the rest of the distros in the way it feels to use. I just love it.
Absolutly, another ex-slackware user here. Gentoo has been amazing. I just simply love it. I have never actually been a "cheerleader" for any single distro, but if I had to, gentoo has my support.
Definately Foundstone. I have friends that work there and have a pretty good understanding of their tools. They are highly skilled. You might claim that im biased, but if I need some security help, those are the first friends I go to.

Distribution too...

Way to many people complaining about the cost.
I will not respect ACiD again until they put Cats Cradle back up and I can call it on a phreaked 800 # to post on Agoranet.
Listening radman? catbones? acid phreaking team?
chris might be a tool, but he is our tool and we love him.

This scene died 5 years ago, the problem is, no one told radman...
Long live CiA!

Why would anyone use Freevo when MythTV is so far ahead of them in features?

Real genius is the best movie of all time.
If your going to donate, give your money to a worthy project like KDE.

Anyone who has actually tried gentoo, and isnt using it instead of every other distro to-date, is simply an idiot.

Folding@home is actually trying to help cure diseases. Seti@home is chasing noises in space. I would much rather cure the diseases personally.
