Fedora... open source like Debian. Up to date and with the times. I could make a long list, but it would be redundant.
"Why is it the worst?"
Debian exchanges stability for usability. No one wants to spend days installing and setting up a box (upgrading the distro to where it should be) just to get up and running on Linux.
"It's easy to sit around and say something sucks"
No it isn't because anyone who disaggrees with the pro-Debian mafia on Slashdot gets slammed as a flamebait or troll. Talk about being biased.
Tangent.... I remember Taco use to be a Suse fan. What are you using today Taco? Are you a Debian zealot now too?
Regardless of what they do.... There is one thing for certain. Debian will still be the worst distro on the planet. As soon as this post is read it will be modded down because the truth hurts and Slashdot is full of blind Debian zealots. Debian is as dead as the 2.2 kernel.
I wish I had mod points because this should be a five. "As I see it, he's a programmer of some talent who happened to be in the right place at the right time..." Exactly.

When you get into the real world you will see how much you really are worth as you are constantly reading to keep up with what changed 2 min ago. IT is a field to be in only if you love it IMHO because it demands so much personal time to stay on top etc. I read a lot more books than my peers who are PHD's. I bet you will read/research more than your sister. To say that IT people don't deserve above average salaries while execs, who don't even know what they are selling get huge salaries and golden parachutes is utter nonsense.
I don't believe the statistics. It was circumstantial because of the economy. I know for a fact that when Napster was around I was buying a lot of music that I normally would have. Something I also noticed about my friend's music spending habits as well. But with cry babies like Lars Ulrich:-(.... those days are over. Sigh... as if Metallica had to start eating TV dinners because of Napster. I won't speak for the masses as this is something you will all have to decide for yourselves. As much as I hate to because I like Best Buy. I will boycott Best Buy when / if they put this in place. If I buy a CD I have the right IMHO to convert it to MP3 if I want to. I can fit a lot more MP3's on a portable player than their antiquated format. It's not my fault they don't want to adjust with the times.
Similar stories of a great flood are recorded within many cultures besides the Judeo-Christian Bible. For example, as I am sure everyone here as already heard in many history/literature classes, The Epic of Giglemesh. The American Indians also have a tail of a man getting into a boat because of a great flood. One could debate as to whether the flood covered the earth, only part of the earth, or possibly it appeared to these people that is was the whole earth because the known earth to them at this time was quite vast, but in reality it was only a part.
that I served in the military (not as a cook). I experienced having to defend myself first hand. Your theories are nice within the relative walls of safety in the United States. I know what is like to run with a machine gun to help one of my buddies who was already engaging three individuals in military uniform rushing our perimeter. I didn't have time to think of the social ramifications of using my weapon because you see, if I had, I could be dead. PERIOD. Your belief system is nice within the walls of academia.

By not defending himself. The British wanted control. Not the destruction of entire people e.g. Death to America. There is no compromise or appeasement with these type if terrorists.
What to do if you happen upon a peace rally hosted by some naive, objectors to the military movement in the Middle East:
1) Approach one individual talking about "peace" and claiming there should be "no retaliation."
2) Have a brief conversation with this person and ask if military force is appropriate.
3) When he says "no," ask, "Why not?"
4) When he says, "because that would just cause more innocent deaths, which would be awful, and we should not cause more violence"
5) Punch him in the face . . . hard
6) When he gets up to punch you back, point out that it would be a mistake, and contrary to his values, to punch you, because he would be just
increasing the violence.
7) When he agrees that he has pledged not to commit violence, punch him in the face again . . . harder this time.
8) Repeat steps 2 through 7 until he understands that sometimes it is necessary to punch back.
9) Move on to other people in his group until all have been converted.
10) Move on to other demonstrations and repeat steps 1 through 9.
I liked the movie overall until the end, which seemed too much like an Indiana Jones finish. I served with the US Army under the NATO led IFOR (Implimentation Force) back in 95. From what I saw I was really impressed with the markings on the vehicles, uniforms etc. It looked so much like the former Yugoslavia to me that I stayed to watch the credits. I wanted to see where it was actually filmed. One scene they are in a factory, (I was shaking my head in disbelief) which appeared to be just like a tank factory we were stationed at in Slavonski Brod,Croatia. I am sure there is someone out there who will nit pick the innaccuracies, but at first glance the attention to detail as far as the country and military forces was excellent in my opinion.
"So what should replace it?"

The above post should be modded down to Troll. What a dickhead. I wish I had some mod points right now.
Actually if anyone is a fucking moron its you. Grow up you little bitch. Still living at home with mommy?

Starblazers. The ship was the WWII Japanese battleship Yamato that was refitted to be a space cruiser.
:-)
And no I am not getting a kick back.

I know. I was just making a comparison if Linux/FreeBSD were available back then. You took me too literal.
And I didn't like it all. I would take Linux or FreeBSD any day over Xenix.
This is where the Kmail bounce feature will come in handy. :-)
"thou shall not kill" is not translated very well in the KJV. The Hebrew word "ratsakh" means more specifically to murder.
will be Nileswall. :-)
at least in my case. When I used Napster I tended to buy more music. Now that I am less exposed to music I probably would have never heard I buy less.
Yes, that was my point. Thank you for the clarification.

Ok pussy, what would your response be?

I was joking, hence the :-)...... You guys need to get out more.....
It is obvious Alan Cox has no idea what he is talking about. :-)

Actually if you turn in a lot of terrorists you will get more frequent flyer points. :-)
Someone should mod this guy up. Excellent point!
