Seriously though, I actually like Unity's interface quite a bit. What I don't like is the bugginess of Unity (and Compiz) which makes it nearly impossible to use with more than a few windows open. You wind up with windows flying every which way, like one of those cheap video games with a broken physics engine.

Why should a sexy male be offensive? What makes this video offensive isn't directly related to who is or isn't physically attractive.

The truly offensive aspect of the video is the assumption that the only concept women respond to is fashion commercials. The inclusion of attractive men is common in ads for women's products, and is part of the overall stereotype demonstrated by this commercial.

Look Google, yeah, we get it: you like inventing stuff. Great. But here's the thing -- people want to use the products you've invented. A few months ago the British government decided not to pardon Turing for his "crime" of being gay.

Their reasoning for rejecting the pardon request seems reasonable:

"However, the law at the time required a prosecution and, as such, long-standing policy has been to accept that such convictions took place and, rather than trying to alter the historical context and to put right what cannot be put right, ensure instead that we never again return to those times."

So it seems that's been addressed by the British government recently. Even though full equality may be a few steps away -- and we shouldn't whitewash that fact -- it's also important to acknowledge that there was far more to Turing than his sexuality.
