But yes, making predictions for the future is dumb. Unless you control the future, in which case it's not really a prediction *cough* Moore's Law *cough*

Fun? It might be fun to screw around with Booby on Brails all day, but in the end you need something stable that actually works and does everything you need.
And whether that's fun or not is largely a matter of perspective.
There was once a company "VA Software," They sold Linux on custom hardware, Their stocks took a dive, Yet SourceForge did thrive, And now they own Slashdot, you're aware?
That's not entirely true; often BIOS settings can be set while the machine is running. You may be thinking of flashing the BIOS, which is a different issue entirely.
It's possible, at least to some extent. Old CRTs could be fried with bad programming. Modern CPUs usually have a thermal fail safe (i.e. a reboot) but not every component does this. I'm pretty sure my Radeon doesn't have this feature, since it gets hot as hell if I let it run for too long.
Another interesting option is USB. I believe it's possible to alter the USB power with a software driver. Just set the power level to over 9000, and your peripherals will fry.
Especially compared to MS Office 2007. It took me about 5 minutes just to figure out how to print something. I mean, it's an office program. There should either be a big PRINT button, or a File->Print menu.
And ideally, a talking paperclip to help you stab your eyes out.
The problem was that Virtual Boy had terrible games and gave users a headache.
Had Virtual Boy succeeded, we might see more of this kind of thing.
But god help you if you try to use both packages together.
And the bibliography styles tend to work with one or the other, but not both.
I doubt Bill Gates ever said that. He's claimed the contrary on several occasions:

Shouldn't it become Wolfram Beta after tonight?
But if you look at the back of the clock, it always says "MADE IN CHINA."
is that NOBODY beats the Wiz!
When this thing was announced, there was no iPhone, Android, etc. Are handheld game-only units still relevant at this point?
Assuming this is real, does this qualify as magic?
Why, is it your wedding day?
Whereas Windows is so intuitive and easy to use.
Which of these makes more sense to you?

Bring it on, bitches. I always like a good challenge.
Speaking of which, I hear Mr. DOS is paying steep bills for his wife's life support.
So I just put the pirated content on my iPod, big deal. Or I can stream from another server.
What are they gonna do about that?
Hot enough that it pisses off my CPU thermostat. Sometimes it will even cause a reboot.

My company pays for my monthly bus pass, and I walk to work half the time anyway.
Sold my car and did not look back.

But if robots can climb stairs, are those of us with stairs in our house still protected?
Best part was the acronym: TP
Every time you'd ask for help with TP on a newsgroup, some wise-ass would make a toilet paper "joke." Got old really fast.
Or another solution is to just avoid visiting websites you don't trust. It's kind of like only using bathrooms that are cleaned often.
I imagine the cost of doing this would be quite high, especially considering the constant updates to the extension.
I knew birds could dance from the Enchanted Tiki Room. Hadn't these "scientists" ever been to Disneyland.
