Why can't a company have several trademarks/brands? Oh, I see it in a shop: "I need a new PC. There are Intel CPUs and AMD CPUs. I'll take Intel please. Now there are video cards - nVidia and AMD. Since I bought Intel AMD won't work with it, right?".... Or something like that. Educating people is hard. Preventing confusion is easier.
I'm not sure how widespread is the problem. Google search for the error message does not return a lot of results. Good luck in resolving your issue but try to sound less FUD'dy next time.
OTOH - I've had a problem with FreeBSD installation on this one particular mobo here. It panics during boot with OHCI and "address not found" problem. I couldn't work around it. I mailed Epox and they deflected me to another point and I didn't bother (shouldn't they handle it internally? Well - next time I'm not buying Epox). Linux BTW also says something during USB init but at least it chugs on (and everything works it seems, Windows was silent but loosing USB keyboard every other boot).
Anyway - how is Safari-the-WebKit-engine worse than Firefox-the-Gecko-engine? If anything I'd like to see more standards compatible browsers and then there's a chance we can defeat evil MSIE. Gecko-is-the-standard did not play well last time when Netscape gone under and Microsoft won the first browser war, right?
Did it. A lot of dependencies failed then. My sound card(!) stopped working, for example. Turned it back on and AOK. OTOH when I built the kernel without it I had no problem (so far).
Heh... Removing (proper) IPv6 on Linux requires kernel re-compile and if you try on Ubuntu to remove something like Avahi (which 99%+ of people do not need and which _can_ cause a lot of problems with DNS) then you'll see that it would "remove" almost the whole of your system through dependencies.
Oh, please... If one nation suffered from communism more than others it's Russia itself. You make it sound that all commies were Russian. Wrong. Percentage-wise there were no less communist members in Poland and Eastern Germany, for example, than in Russia. "Russian" revolution were sponsored by Germans and all kind of nations participated in it (on commie side). "Latvian shooters" were famous red-army guard forces for example. Poor latvian and east germans then... occupied by evil Russia. Well - next time think better of who you support. Next - Russian occupation? Was you city boss or police chief Russians? Would you like them more to be Germans? And do you think that you were worse off than people in Russia under "Russian occupation"?
Overall - sorry, "totalitarianism" of any kind was not exclusive to Russia and it was not even invented there. And yes - we needed a Nuremberg process for communism and what it did. First-most to Russians.
And, BTW - just for the record - during last 500 years Poland invaded Russia much more often than Russia did Poland.
First - you don't want to use Apache with FastCGI with PHP. And if you use mod_php (like all people do) you can't limit PHP processes to reasonable amount (say, 4 times the number of cores you have) without limiting the number of HTTP requests at all. Am I right?
BTW - I noticed that PHP5.2.1 on my home machine (Sempron64, Kubuntu AMD64, 2.0Ghz) to be consistently at least 1.5-2 times faster on (micro)benchmarks than the same PHP version "hand-built" with usual optimizations and the same AFAICT ZTS and other settings on Core2 Dual Xeon machine on RHEL4 i386 (1.8GHz). How comes? Is AMD64 ABI really that great for PHP or what? Python's benchmarks, OTOH, generally don't show any improvement between i386 and AMD64.
Uhm, what are you talking about people? My Feisty downloaded all drivers automatically (with a prompt) on first attempt to play MP3, DivX, etc from the _standard repository_. Maybe I enabled universe or multiverse though. Are they not "on" by default? - I don't remember.
And then - when you're seriously drunk - shout at them: Youuu baasterdss (hick)... When arrre you goin' to make siss... siss... sissty-fooourr bit Flassshhh pluginnnn... (throw up)
First - how many viruses cause comparable damage _ever_?
Second - once I tried testing several known AVs with some fresh dialers and trojans I've had (mostly as email attachments). Not a single one(!) has been detected by AVG, Avast, and Kaspersky.
All they do is detecting irrelevant (in the age of Internet) old "viruses", wasting your resources, and through occasional fuckups like this one doing real damage. Good thing if your AV is at least free one.
Little choice then if you want AMD CPU. And before Intel open-sourced their drivers I bet you did not use GUI at all, right?
Not that I don't share your sentiment.

"Requires glibc 2.3.2+, gtk+ 2.2.0+" - well, what do you think?

WebKit is not OSS now? Hm...

ReputationDefender, DefendMyName... Meh. Lame. What about MinistryOfTruth?
More like: KDevelop, Eclipse, maybe Anjuta.
Poom-poorum-pum, poom-poom-poom.....
MI3 was mediocre (but I still finished it). But MI4 was pretty ok. Or am I only one feeling that way? (Yes, it started slowly).

Does not support bluetooth at all though. Maybe something else.

I think AMD would've stick with 939/940 sockets if memory manufacturers would not switch to cheaper (but otherwise the same performance) DDR2 memory.
Boys extremely good in math tend to lack a ring on said finger.
Frankly - who cares? It will be fast enough, no doubt. Speed is not the #1 characteristic of CPU anymore.
Notice how things get progressively important in your list?

1.4.13 does not leak in my experience. Having it running for months on medium traffic site.

But can they run Linux?
