I think that the average household has more Unix systems running for them than Windows. For example - I know for sure that my DVD player and my ADSL modem have Linux running in them. My TV, phones, etc - frankly no idea. Maybe some Unix too, maybe something else. But I heard that this thing runs them most: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRON_Project
Yeah, desktop is still important but with things like these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASUS_Eee_PC gaining momentum I hope Windows will be further sliding into irrelevancy.
As a huge Opera fan and user of it for.. what?! 10 years already, I can say that the biggest problem with Opera is not being Open Source. And that's a biggy.
And anyway - 90% of anime is TV series. You don't normally pay to watch them anyway. Yes, you kinda have "ad blocker" that way (TV networks get money from ads and pay them to anime studios to produce show, I guess it chiefly works that way), but most fansubs even preserve "Presented by..." sequences after intros and stuff. So - it's kinda hard to call it piracy even. And of course - fansubs are very benefical to paraphernalia merchandise.
I dunno. VIA usually were ok. There mainly-AMD chipsets were no speed-demons (when it mattered) but they were OK. And sure as hell we always can haz one more CPU manufacturer in addition to Intel and AMD. Performance does not even matter as long as prices (which seems to be the case) are low indeed.
I have Radeon 8500 in this machine - is that old enough? Where do I get a "fully working" (as in "beryl works great and does not hang") open-source driver? The one in xorg is not it IME.
If you don't need OSS graphics drivers AMD is a damn good choice. And it has been for the last 20 years except small K5 vs Pentium period.
As for Vista being the last 32-bit MS OS, it could well be the last MS OS period. Anyway - it really stretches 32-bit address space as it is trying to fit its fat ass within i386 pants.
1. BR is bigger (25 vs 15 gig per layer, dual layer 50 gig BR discs are already available and unlike DL DVDs the prices is _not_ over 2x).
2. You can already buy 5" PC BR recordable drive (at around $500 though). HD - I doubt.
3. BR is supposedly more scratch-resistant.
So - BR, at least as PC media - and I don't care much about other uses, wins hands down for me.
That's not sustainable. "Bums" and "military" OTOH....
Just proves how far detached big game companies are from their userbase and how little do they understand entertainment.
Wise you are. I wish I could too. Unfortunately it's a bit tricky freelancing on that market and available employment is somewhat crappy around here.

Brilliant. Somebody mod him up!
... and Ichigo still "trains" below Urahara-shoten while we enjoy more fillers.
AKA luserbase.
Please don't tell me you seriously suggest 12-year olds should read 1984?

Unless porn is banned (by school, parents, etc) it gets really, really boring rather quickly. 99.9% of it is lame-ass.

I'd say that for Windows users seeking alternative there are only two real options: Ubuntu and PCLinuxOS. Everything else is not for them, frankly.
Have they fixed those bugs?
No. It's not the first. This one for example is selling everywhere for some time now:
http://www.google.com/search?q=glofish+x500%2B
If true that only means that those passwords are irrelevant and not part of security mechanism.
If anything that would some other company from North-West corner of US.
More appropriate caption would be "Top Linux developers are replaced with new ones as time go by".
That or Michael Moore documentary.
You're absolute right but think about bits density and as a result the storage capacity!

Saying "wait" in these comparisons is foul-play.
... for retarded definition of "computing".
