Well, those mailing lists your on is 99.99% of the time you signed up for the list. No one here has a problem with mail lists like that. It's just when a spammer just randomly picks addresses(or buys a list of addresses) and mails out spam, that's where the problem lies. It takes up *my* resources to receive something I don't even want at all.

And I do feel that it needs to be practical to put a restraining order put on someone who spams. I consider it to be the same as junk faxing, and there *are* laws against that.

Hey, they own those stations, so they have a right to choose what to play. If they think something is in bad taste, the won't play it. That's not censorship that's choice. The government hasn't told them not to play questionable songs, they decided it was in their best interest as a business or maybe in their interest as humans. This is not censorship this is a business esercising it's freedom to choose to do what it wants.

Well, if they didn't own like 50-100% of all the stations in most markets I wouldn't have a problem with it, but since they do (go look at a list of stations they own), that means you won't be able to hear the songs at all unless you own the albums! So this could be considered a case of censorship(It's not just for goverments anymore) and also a good reason why the FCC should have never relaxed how many stations a compay could own.

Since the DOJ won't do anything to MS now...Since the breakup was the most punnishing thing that they would think of doing(forcing them to release the OS code to PD would be the best way), and anything less is just a slap on the wrists. MS is going to get rid of it's competitors they only was they can, make them illegal to use. And if this bill passes, that would be the case because we would not put this crap into the Linux kernel.

This time we need to get out and do something. Not just whine and bitch about our goverment bending us over and using a splintered 2x4 where the sun don't shine. Write your reps, call your reps, go in person and see your reps, just don't e-mail them, that has a negative effect, they don't even read them, and will most likely drive them to the wrong conclusion.
