  1. Exactly what I have always wondered.

    About four years ago and three jobs ago, my employers attempted to sue someone over a yelp review. I'm not sure what ever happened with that, but I know their business has been going downhill ever since.

    Then again, when you're a yacht charter company and have 7 boats (Including the company speed boat, solely used for rescuing disabled customers) sink or nearly sink in the last 8 months, there are probably other, more pressing issues to attend to.

    The one I read about last year charged to -120v before dumping, to defeat any protection diodes.

    This method could be a game-changer, but I wonder about factors that would degrade the integrity of the system, especially the distance between the two plates (punctures, blunt force, flexibility) and the shelf life of the insulators.

    Hobbyist reporting in, and this is exactly what I was curious about. That better be a damn good insulator, otherwise we are in for a whole new ballgame of Note 7s.

    I very much want better battery technology, but that also invites some very destructive failure modes.

    Just grow the plant. I've got three of them and just rip off a vine/leaf/tentacle when I need it.

    Great for 4th of july burns from DIY fun and roman candle fights, I've yet to find anything better for burns.

    I own a few parody and """troll""" websites, so I'm biased here.

    But I don't think the real name or information of a URL owner should be available to the public. To law enforcement, sure, assuming their reasons for wanting such information are valid and come with a warrant.

    I'd rather not have my personal email/name/place of work be flooded with "offended" children that can't understand sarcasm and/or satire demanding that I be fired, thanks.

    I always enjoyed reading his story when I was younger, it was an inspiration. It showed what a determined kid could do given enough knowledge and motivation.

    Thiel further angered First Amendment supporters by bankrolling the Hulk Hogan lawsuit that brought down Gawker.

    I didn't realize publishing private sextapes and ignoring orders from judges was a first amendment issue, but hacked nudes were a completely different, terrible thing to do.

    Radiolab is excellent. Haven't listened to it in a long time as it got a little political for a bit, but good show, especially this one.

    Well... I don't like it, but you're not wrong. It's extremely primitive though.

    I don't see "real" AI coming until we develop new processor architectures, specifically organic based.
