While Xbox security is of course quite loose, there's no reason to expect the key isn't strong. What they're doing is like trying to get into a house by breaking down an armoured bolted door as opposed to jumping in the open window right next to the door.

By the time any such Linux gaming company would release a game, DoomIII etc. would be released, and that would be the market they're competing in. There are? I can think of CrystalSpace, and Quake II as the only decent open-source FPS engines (and none of them is that good, compared to the likes of DoomIII, HL2, Halo2, etc), and Freecraft was the only decent RTS engine. Is there some secret 31337 open-source engine repository I'm missing out on?

That's true, ignoring a few special cases such as distributed.net RSA processing. However, most people would say that the Mac would beat your Win2k box in user experience, and probably longevity. PCs are good for people who want the greatest possible processing power per buck (although this may change with the 970), gamers, and people who want a computer for less than a thousand bucks or so. Macs are good for people who want the best desktop experience possible, and are willing to pay for it. I, personally, use a PC because I don't have a lot of money and I prefer to do a lot of tinkering and have a lot of control over my computer. That doesn't change the fact that OS X is the best available OS for desktop use, and it is cheaper than Windows (especially for upgrades).

That's true, but the Photoshop UI does have some advantages over Gimp - the menu and toolboxes are always visible, and not liable to get hidden behind picture windows. Sure, you can say "Just tell your WM to make the main GIMP window stay on top", but not all WMs (Windows, for example) can easily do that. Even then, it's annoying to maximise an image and have it overlap the toolbox.

I like the way Photoshop for Mac is done. It's not MDI, because all windows are managed by the WM, but it gives it enough hints to ensure that things just work. For example, if I click on the GIMP's icon in my dock/taskbar/panel, I want to see the image I'm working on, not just the GIMP toolbox. Photoshop gets this right, and GIMP doesn't.
