    Reminds me of the response in France some years ago. Somebody or other started to stamp French beef VF (to indicate viande francais, French meat) since English meat was suspect. Of course, people jokingly started to say that VF stood for vachon folle (mad cow).

    For the local cities here in California, traffic tickets are a much-needed source of revenue. Nobody pretends that it is anything else. The entrepreneurs supplying red-light cameras simply get paid a cut of the revenue.

    But, wasn't the American war for independance all about money too? Taxes on tea, the Stamp Act, competition with English export/import. Without the money factor, America would still be part of the British Empire.

    Well, I certainly don't expect privacy from gmail. But it is a useful free service for the bulk of my nonsecure transactions, and for "chatting". My homepage is a fully decked out Google homepage with all the stuff I can fit, now I can click on Netvibes for an alternate source of info, without much duplication.

    Laziness indeed. Not learning to touch type means people find it painful to abbreviate everything, sometimes to an absurd extent. Why not spell out what you mean to insure people understand you? Its Too Ha-a-a-ard!!!

    uh, yeah, i guess i agree, i used to work for everything i have, but, then when free isp's came along, i figured if i could get that for nothing, then why bother paying for anything? cool. now me and my other troglodyte freeloaders are encouraged to steal bandwidth from all you old, foolish people that pay for things. heehee. oh, and by the way, i'm 52 years old
