    I have often though of how unfortunate were are to live in the transition from a smoking to a nonsmoking society. Lots of friction. Another example is the Monty Python skit about England switching over from driving on the left to driving on the right. To ease the transition, the changeover would be done gradually.

    I remember from my course in Medical Literature Evaluation in college, The Lancet has rather more loose standards than, say British Medical Journal, and as a result, everybody loved to read it cuz it always had provocative and often amusing articles.

    Blank recordable CDs have an actual capacity of 723 to 726 MB which I have been able to overburn to. Never been able to overburn a 4.7GB dvd, however. The "800MB" cds actually will burn to 834MB. You need a burner that will do it and software that is capable. I love Gburner, but haven't been able to figure out how to overburn with it.

    Well, yes, of course a few degrees might not be unwelcome in most place on earth, but I believe the concern is that we would spiral towards becoming like the planet Venus, since there is no way to stop the changes once started.

    But please consider that at least a few of people involved in any purportedly righteous endeavor as volunteers are not necessarily good at what they do but like feel that they are doing their part. No great loss when they get their knickers in a twist and make a self righteous statement upon leaving.

    Once upon a time, I had a landline telephone answering machine that would send a message to my pager letting me know what phone numbers had called. Pretty useful in a pre-cellphone world. But pagers were mostly used by pimps and dealers to assist trade I guess. Obsolete. I tried to get a replacement when I lost mine, and the company couldn't supply one.

    Wow. The latest example of a German law apparently designed to proclaim to the world: WE ARE NOT NAZIS!!!!, in fact, when we arrest people we treat them with the utmost respect, unlike those nasty people who used to run our country, who were ALL killed, which they deserved.

    Alphabetical telephone/address book, conveniently arranged by name of site/program with user name/password. You do have to take good care of it however.

    They have to provide some access to their system by an outside ISP such as Earthlink. Just don't ask TW to do it, as Earthlink to set it up. Then TW sends the bill, Earthlink provides the service. TW will not advertise this fact, obviously.
