When I posted the parent rhetorical questions, I was hoping someone would recognize the historical importance that Unions played in creating the middle class. Why am I working more hours with a college degree to have a lower living standard than my father had 40 years ago? And he didn't even graduate from high school. We should have been on a 32 hour standard workweek many years ago.

Get your elderly user to take a look at the book "PC's for Dummies". This book was written with this type of user in mind. I began using PC's later in life than most of you. "PC's for Dummies" explained many things that authors of other, allegedly, beginner level books assumed I already knew.

That's illegal - because it enables a voter to prove how he voted to someone else.
        - This enables vote-buying schemes.
        - It also breaks the secret ballot by enabling pressure (by employers, thugs, and corrupt officials) on the voters to vote a particular way and prove they did.

The voter could be given a random number that they can use to verify their vote and not a physically identifiable ticket. When the employer, thug, etc. asks you to prove how you voted you don't have to show them your number, but rather any number that reflects what they want to see.
