Well, considering you were on a ZD webserver, I ain't surprised it crashed. Now, considering that my Mac has hummed beautifully since December of 1998 - no re-installing of system software, no initializing hard rives, no blinking floppy disks, Mac OS updates and hardware upgrades have gone fantastically,Yellow Dog Linux runs masterfully, rolled right through Y2K (while my friend's Wintel, bought at the same time, didn't) - I think I've got a damn fine machine on my hands. When I go to a person's house to consult or work on a machine, I don't work on Macs - I work on Wintels. It's not that the people I know only have Wintels - it's that the Macs work. The only time I had to work on a Mac was to retrofit a 6200 for a cable modem. Took no time at all. So, the answer to all your bluster is, simply: Make sure you check the fluid levels and be observant while driving.
You know, that's a shit attitude. "I'm paying for my degree." That's a load of crap - you arent paying for your degree, you aren't "paying to be there.". You are partially paying for the cost of running a university - period. I've worked at a university for close to 10 years now, and I'm sick of hearing students act like this is a product they're purchasing - it isn't! You are paying the instructors to teach you and paying the university rent for its rooms.
Ummm...I, and many other Mac OS X users, would like to say we don't know the troll above and have no clue as to what he's blabbering about. I, for one, exist in a contemplative existance between Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, Yellow Dog Linux 2, Solaris 8 (and, for minor things, Windows 98 and 2000). Each one has its strengths, each one its weaknesses. However, other than die-hard Windows users with scant clue as to why they actually use the OS, I would never slam users of another OS the way we just saw. BTW, I bought Myth II for Linux - even when I already had it on Mac OS 9.
Yes, it is on DVD - with shamefully little in terms of extras ("Special Features: Interactive Menus, Dolby, Dead Parrot Feather"). I've been waiting for a DVD rerelease patiently. Now, with this news, the "Platoon" DVD rerelease out, and the news of the Godfather trilogy coming in October...I'm just orgasmic. I do suggest, btw, that for "Life of Brian" you should look no further than the Criterion Collection version. It's a little pricey, but it has commentary from everyone (with the exception of Chapman, of course)!

The Scots accent is based on Meyers's late father. If you want a good example of Meyers imitation of his father (read: a comic interpretation of a real figure), I highly suggest "So I Married an Axe Murderer."
Come to Michigan - we have plenty. I was just in Best Buy yesterday and they had about ten PS2s on the floor. And, if we don't have them here, you can always go to Canada - I understand they're not moving all that fast over there...

Hmmm...remind me to hire you the next time my employees need target practice.
Let's say you're right, let's say women are to blame for the recent failures.
At least they don't have the blood of astronauts and teachers on their hands.

What are you smoking and will you share?
Yep...I'm sure that all those Apple I boxes are on their way to the dump right now...
Why do I keep thinking of Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game? Simulation has a dark side to it...
Can we see the dentist, too?
'Holy Grain?" Is that like the Most Blessed Wheat of St. Kellogg?
I feel sorry for both of you, then, for as long as you think an education is a product.
Phffff ... what's the EFF ever done for us?
Well, there's the aquaducts...
