    From what I understand from popular culture, scientists have a general disdain for engineers, they will often make jokes at the engineer's expense and then follow up with a "Bazinga!"

    She could have been cut off and really said he's as much a scientist as she is a vice president. Which would actually be more accurate and a bit meaner.

  14. No, things cost what they cost. The $4 starbucks you buy every morning is still $4. Groceries, rent, utilities, all about the same. So you might get a yes but you can't afford to take her anywhere nice on that budget.

  15. You don't understand how bad corruption is here. Politicians literally buy votes and nobody has a problem with it. "Running a negative campaign" in the Philippines means taking out a hit on your opponent. Hundreds of political assassinations every year, and the problem is unsolvable because the people have accepted it. The news is too scared to investigate or report on it so instead it reports on a drug problem that doesn't really exist.

    She obviously has no incentive to talk about things that will hurt her. Right now it's a balancing act. Anything she says will lose points with some group and win points with another. That's why the UFO thing is kind of brilliant, because it locks in the tin foil hat vote without really losing anything anywhere else.

    Believe me, they see accumulating wealth as a competition. Hell, most of my family sees it as a competition.

    Of course he finds ways to lower his tax liability, but that's not avoiding taxes. Are people who take deductions or an earned income credit avoiding taxes? No because they're not liable in the first place. And by the way he's a huge charity donor. The government isn't a charity, and even if it were there are probably more worthy ones out there.

    He's saying they should change the rules, but that doesn't mean he should start playing as if they already have. That would be like a MLB manager who refuses to play his DH on principal. It's a game for these people and they're not going to handicap themselves.
