    but the company i work for uses pagers. Someone wants to talk to you, they page, you get to the nearest phone and hit #, then your number, and your connected to them, if you dont respond after so long you go to voicemail. You can also email someones pager. cost effective? eh. an excellent tool to use? oh yes

    It all depends on the state. Some states it is legal to drive between rows of cars. Why you would risk that in stop and go traffic is beyond me. Here in Minnesota you can share a lane with only another motorcycle if you so choose. You can not ride between lanes of traffic intentionaly.

    The reason its bad if you ride side by side is if one person swerves to miss something the other rider doesnt see... However i dont think this would be a large issues with this vehicle since it is on four wheels with a low center of balance. Perhaps even lower then a motorcycle.

    Could this be SCO shooting itself in the foot? They want to make money off of software that may or may not be deemed theirs, but now they have people using this as an excuse to stay away.

    Definatly good tips if it works for you. For those of you who dont get a parking space for another 7 years, park as close as you can can and jog the mile into work. Also use the stairs untill you cant handle it anymore, then get on the elevator to take you the rest of the way to floor 20 :)

    What i am curios about is the bandwidth required to supply. In my town i think that we would have no issues getting permission to use telephone poles or dig trenches as needed to run wire and covering the initial cost. What i wonder about is how do they pay for the bandwidth? are they linked up to the telephone company? are they linked up to something else?

    While i havent had the experience HBI has, i must agree with the general idea that the public is kept in the dark with the real truth when it comes to the real details of contracts. for good reasons too. Im willing to bet that they went straight to bill and put the real squeeze on him. Bill probly didnt like this but realizing which way numbers have been shifting he relized he needed this number put out there to try and convince others to use his products.

    another tip for you would be to make sure you have a decent pair of skates. like anything else you only get out of it what you put in to it. if you bought cheapo skates it will be a lot harder to skate then if you buy a decent pair of fitness skates $150+ usualy

    this is petty. but i dont mind. i havent gotten a bill for seeing any of the content subscribers do. the site belongs to osdn, which also doesnt care about your petty complaints else wise they would have done something by now as well.

    They arnt canceling licenses, "SCO is filing for an injunction that will require IBM to cease all sale of AIX as well as accrue damages for each day IBM continues to sell AIX." the issue is the fact that IBM is continuing to carry a product that is not in sco's best intrest so sco is using their ability to "terminate the contract at anytime they feel appropriate." while that's not said anywhere that clause goes into almost every contract out there

    first off, your posting with a karma level of 2. secondly this is their site, they can run it how they see fit. the issue in the faq is related to things that significantly change the meaning of a story. what irks me is a bunch of kids screaming about the way this site is designed with out doing a single thing about it. start your own site or pre process it for spelling. even if there is a large group of whiners crying about spelling and grammar i dont beleive it will ever be taken to hart with /. editors when your argument is all I I I think it should be MY way. what a joke.

    if it means so much to you run a proxy server which spell checks pages before you see them. you are one user. write up documentation or even make a public proxy for serving up /. with spell checking and come up with some hard core numbers like %51 or more of active /. posters using your system and then talk to the developers about posibly implementing your idea. but to sit here and whine isnt going to get you anywhere.

    i dont care about spelling, and personaly is there was a spell checker built in i wouldnt use it, nor an option to spell check the site before i see it.

    and perhaps you could just follow the the faq

    switches can yes, but you dont realize the problem. your plugging an access point into a switch which only allows one mac thus making it so only one computer can connect to the access point. we have this issue at work when we hook an ap up to a 3com superstack which only allows 3 systems per port.

    Who cares about spelling errors? i am more for content. Correct me if i am wrong but isnt the idea of /. to let each person have their opinion be seen the way the want it to be seen? if they choose to spell wrong. so be it.

    if you hit Here you will notice that the MAXIMUM power consumption of a power supply is 100 watts.. and that definatly is a LOT less then what i have in my desktop which should also calculate to some decent savings over time.

    Hans, how come everywere i go i always see people saying reiser has no 'undelete' function. i recently installed slackware and wrote down my partition numbers wrong and ended up remaking the reiser fs over a directory of 18 years of pictures three times! i was able to recover all but 5 pictures by replaying the journal.

    why is this not considerd an undelete feature? or is this not the intended use?

    i am to the point now where i cant wait to have my drivers liscence expire so i can re-sign FUCK OFF on it, then i will sign my credit cards and everything else they pitch at me.


    there are people at the target around here that are such well known morons they stand behind their register with no one coming down their line while others have 4 people waiting. everyone knows better.
