They pursue the two campaigns very differently. I don't see nearly as many ads for their computers as I do for the iPod. They are both going for the "Hip" factor though which explains why you see SO many more people on TV and in movies using Powerbooks compared to real life. Apple is just inherently more brandable.
When I talk about iSheep though I'm talking about real people that I have talked to that insist that the iPod has the "best" user interface. When I ask why they can't really tell me and they just say that it is simple. Simple is fine unless it doesn't do something I wish it would. When I ask how many other music players they have tried they admitted to very few. What I mean when I say the Neuros is better IMO (and I have tried an iPod) is that it is easier and faster to get to the content I like; ease-of-use as you say. There are five programmable shortcut buttons that work much like the pre-sets of your car stereo that allow for a very simple yet powerful interface. There are other reasons (such as the FM transmitter and OGG support) but for me the programmable buttons are the biggie.

In order to kill it there would need to be another device with an equally effective marketing campaign.
They REALLY improved the FM transmitting range in version two. I had a NeurosI that I had to send back right when the NeurosII came out. What they sent me back was a NeurosII. Talk about good customer service! And it works so much better. The size doesn't bother me because it works so well for what I need it for. If fits in my vest pocket without a problem. Another feature that makes it better IMO than an iPod is the 5 programmable buttons. They makes finding favorite lists or picking up where I left off in a long recording sooo easy. I love me Neuros!
Why would 3rd party search engines be any less stable or optimized? An app is just an app. There isn't anything tricky it needs to know about the OS. Is Firefox less stable than IE?
You don't need a right button in Windows any more than you do on a Mac. The fact that very few people know this points to the usefulness of the right button. I work at a company with a fairly even split of Mac/Windows systems and it is interesting to note that almost all of the mac systems have multi button mice attached. With so many Mac users obviously preferring the extra button it astounds me that Apple still doesn't include a multi button option on their laptops.
You apparently are not aware that ruggedized Tablets have been around for years for these types of vertical applications. I even know of one company that makes a Tablet for the military that is bulletproof. Literally.
I write mine on the yellow note paper taped to the pull out section above the top right drawer. I change it every week. This week it is 'Pencil'. Don't tell anyone though.

He had just spent months actively campaigning against giving trade perks to China (which the GOP really wanted). Then he turns around and gives them most favored trading status without getting anything in terms of improved human rights from them.

I don't like the immediate interaction of IM for the same reason I don't like phones, cell or otherwise. I don't like people virtually popping in and demanding my attention no matter what I am doing. Most of my calls go to VM and when I tried IM I found that I left it set to 'away' most of the time. If you need to get a hold of me, email is the fastest way. I check them every hour or so. I check the VM only 1-2 times a day. If only I could turn off the phone at work as well.

Battery life is about 7 hours for mine. If you have access to your car you can charge it with the included car adapter.
It does have mic in.
