Yeah, that's why I always put the power plant near the edge of the map. Less area for the fire to spread when it blows. Also seemed like Godzilla stomped on it less if it was at the edge too.
"Something like that would never have happened in the STTNG series."
This did happen in TNG though. Q brought them there to meet the Borg. He also brought them back in time to see the very beginning of evolution on earth (which seems much harder to swallow.)

Don't be a duffus. There are two reasons why most aliens are bipedal.
1) Production costs. Keeping the aliens close to human is cheaper.
2) The important reason is that the audience needs to relate to the bad guy/alien in some way. If they are truly alien then there isn't the humanistic connection the audience demands.
Same reasons apply to TOS. Can you really see Kirk making it with a 3 legged tentacle chick?

Yes. Though the writing wasn't always top notch I thought the acting was. Kudos to Tim Russ and Jeri Ryan as well.
As established by Bill and Ted, it will still happen as long as Janeway remembers to go back and do all the same stuff the older Janeway did.
In that way the new reality will create itself.
I'm not sure what good sniffed mouse data can do anyone. X/Y and button events don't seem useful out of context. If you are paranoid about this (and still need a cordless mouse) get a Wacom Tablet.
The goal of cheating is to better the chance of winning. Cheating also assumes you are giving a correct answer (if you are cheating well). Only they know the correct answers.
"If this is the case, then why haven't many MS users switched over to something so easy."
Because almost as easy to use as Windows isn't good enough. In order to get vast numbers of people to switch over, it will need to be unquestionably much better. And MS doesn't sit still. They keep getting better too so it isn't going to be easy.
I run a dual boot system with Mandrake and WinXP beta2. I use the MS end much more because as much as I wanted it to be, Mandrake still isn't quite there.
There is indeed a Wacom tablet with an LCD screen in front of it. Because the tablet part isn't transparent it goes behind the LCD. This has the added benefits of a clearer picture because there isn't an extra layer.
Here is how to disable the tip for B&W:
Start B&W then minimize it (this is so you can add app specific settings for B&W)
Go into the control panel.
Add applications (B&W)
Select B&W in app list
Select Stylus
Go to the Tool Buttons tab
Click near the tip where it says 'Left Click'
A hidden menu will appear.
Select 'ignored'. Click yes to the warning (it may be a good idea to set something else to 'left click').
Click apply.
Now when B&W is in the foreground the tip will be ignored.
Very few people ever peek at the Wacom control panel because the pen works so well out of the box. Learn to harness it's power and it will set you free!
I should add that the reason for this is that intelligent combat is a very non-trivial AI task.
BattleBots isn't really robot competition. Just fancy remote control.

Westwood ain't gonna step that far out on the limb for the real Herbert fans.
In your next life go back and read the books again. They really are that good.

This is a bad thing? Think about it.
In an ideal world I would be a billionaire and my boss would work for me.
I really think there's some truth to this. Look at the image selected by /. to represent MS.
Is BG really as destructive as the Borg?

We did bomb their embassy. So I guess we are good at killing people by mistake.

What technology? 'tis just fancy remote control. I think the truth is that we are afraid to make real killer robots!

Not so! Check this out. Most robot competition is non-violent. Though it is fun to see parts fly.
