"If you can only sell on price, you have nothing worth selling."
for as good as the surface pro is, i'd rather have a Windows 7 laptop for half the price.
my fucking horrible samsung windows 8 laptop (NP550P5C-A01UB, catchy name, no?) types wherever the hell the cursor is, not necessarily where i had intended to type. fuck windows 8.
Samsung BLATANTLY ripped off the iPhone's design with their original Android phones, so FUCK THEM. Seriously, anyone who expects their product designs not to be stolen outright by Korean or Chinese firms is a fucking idiot. As for any judge who ruled against Apple in these cases, they're obviously products of the failed American educational system because they can't think for shit.
Sure, I don't use all the processors 100% of the time, but 100% of the time when I'm using ProTools or Logic or Cubase, I rely on the full set of 8 cores to handle my array of virtual synths and samplers.
if the MS tablets had educational content, which they do not, or mature systems for managing thousands of tablets. they also require purchasing a $150 external keyboard. fuck that.
school systems generally have a tech budget that's separate from the school maintenance budget or teacher salary budget. since Congress can't say no to putting tech in schools, when they're running low on operating funds, they raid the teachers' salary column (layoffs ensue) in order to keep schools operating. but they rarely touch the tech budget.
Perhaps the educational materials available for the IOS platform are superior to those available for Android? Or do they even exist?
The iPad is far more than a television, but it is not the best device for creating content. Our schools should be developing content creators, not just content consumers.
"several times the cost of the competition"? Are you out of your mind? What's the competition? Show us some facts.
There are NO tablets equal to the iPad in terms of software infrastructure, app availability, management tools, and educational content -- you should consider the whole ball of wax. High-quality Android tablets sell for similar prices, due to the cost of components (and the fact that Apple's iPads are priced competitively because Apple has achieved benefits of scale of production which Android tablet manufacturers have not).
how important is it to teach 30 children to read, write, and perform mathematics? will that yield $70k worth of economic productivity throughout the child's life? well, possibly $500k-$1m worth of positive impact. that's probably worth $70k/year. it's more valuable than hitting your sports balls.
I thought his goal was to make games that weren't any fun to _play_. After a couple of hundred hours milling in WoW, I just gave up. Beautiful scenery, ok music, shitty combat system, horrible $160 annual fee for playing online plus $50 for new game options. No fucking thanks.
if the US can't get Snowden within 90 days, they'll lose the attention of the American public. Then the CIA can kill him the way they did Senator Wellstone, with an airplane crash that nobody will investigate because hey, Minnesota, ice. Nevermind that the Russians have the same experience with clearing ice of plane wings.
please, let's change it from "Ballmer's Year" to "Ballmer's LAST Year". for the sake of Microsoft, and for the sake of their customers and competitors and the whole damned tech market.
uh, Word 6 is a dog. It was the version released when Microsoft switched from developing for the Mac first to developing for Windows first, so Word 6 was a port and a poorly-done one at that. 6.01 fixed some of the slowdowns, and 6.1 was a bit better.
For my money, Word 4 was the best word processor ever. The only new feature (added in 5.1) that I've come to rely on is support for hypertext links. But futzing with the menus and adding a ribbon was a bridge too far.
Do you get paid for radio airplay? I'm not sure. Pretty much the controlling interests (mass-market radio like ClearChannel) only play certain "hit" artists, so even cutting-edge musicians like Thom Yorke don't make the playlist.

Is Disney part-owned by Apple? I thought that was strictly a Steve Jobs / Pixar move.

and how many LA schools teach computer programming? computer programming courses have been pretty much wiped out of the K-12 curriculum nationwide.

how much do textbooks cost? $300-$400/year? that seems about right. so $600 for the ipad, and the rest of the amount covers the educational material.

Usually Durbin isn't in the same list of assholes as Coats. Shameful. I expected as much out of Kirk though.
i thought he was the one responsible for hiding wmd's in Iraq. no, wait, that was the plutonium tubes in nigeria. wait, no, it'll come to me...
JOBS. JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS FUCKING JOBS. but the republicans still want to sink obama, so no action on JOBS.
wasn't buffalo awarded some kind of prize for having the fattest citizens?
every three hours while you're awake? or do you wake up in the middle of the night to eat?

hey, that was my joke upon running a windows mobile 6 phone -- who wants a phone that crashes? welcome to windows phone.
nope, some people remember what a kludge they were, as well as how heavy and slow those devices were.
>The window dressing of 'fixing' what was wrong isn't whats required to fix the problems.
as evidenced by the return of the Start button, not the Start menu.

only if your songs are played on the radio, it's tracked, and a group like ASCAP or BMI is actively seeking to enforce payments to you.
