Microsoft makes (~$5) licensing money off every Android device. So Ballmer's pretty happy.
"Merely fucking toys" with the best virtual instrument apps of any platform. Because Android has shitty audio processing, with large latency, making it impossible to use an Android device as a musical instrument.
you're welcome.
with a stabilizing bar so one robot can't trip up the other robot then smash him. STUPID.
I'd rather see robot wars where the robots were autonomous, and were allowed to splash each other with corrosives, water, oil, foam, whatever. there's no need for the robots to be shaped like humans, and in fact, it makes it DUMB.

Sure there's more snow upstate, but there's plenty of land and it would be nice to remake NYC as a modern city, with shorter buildings housing larger apartments, spaced further apart. We could call it New New York.
Sometimes, it's important to take the long route to knowledge in order to rebuild those synapses in your brain so that they understand new concepts your old brain state did not understand.

There isn't a problem adding videos TO the traditional curriculum, but there would be should we replace the traditional curriculum with videos.

Did I say that one should not get hands-on experience? No. In many of my classes we did get hands-on experience, plus lectures, plus discussions. I guess that's the advantage to attending a good school and not some online sham school like University of Phoenix.
There's a mindset in the classroom, a certain amount of decorum if you will, which allows people with different points of view or levels of understanding to communicate without being as mean or condescending as they are on the impersonal internet. Idiot.
- see what I did there?
this, and the many other articles I've been reading lately that decry the death of the university, completely ignores the fact that many people learn best when they have the routine of going to a physical classroom and being in a seminar-style setting where there is an instructor and other students to ask questions and round out one's understanding of a topic. i think it's all hogwash. maybe remote learning can replace certification tracks or community college, but get real. this is a load of dung.
Steve Jobs was pissed at Adobe for screwing Apple by not releasing Photoshop for OSX and working on Microsoft Windows versions of their products, so Apple developed Aperture. Steve was honked off at Avid for focusing development on the Windows platform instead of OSX, so Apple developed Final Cut Pro. I'm not sure Tim Cook is as angry as Jobs, but judging by the shit-tastic Pages / Numbers / Keynote on the Mac & iDevice platform, Apple will never develop a threat to important products like Microsoft Office, and they've already pushed away their pro customers to Avid Media Composer & Adobe Premiere so Logic is probably the next product to be dumbed down like Final Cut Pro X was.
Apple has abandoned the high-end user by focusing on fucking iMacs. The latest Mac Pro is a travesty, using years-old parts rather than doing a new mobo design. If Apple fucks over creatives, we're leaving and not coming back.
Because who the fuck knows what Apple is going to do in the future, I'm keeping my ProTools and Cubase licenses up to date with current versions of the software. At some point, Apple will probably fuck Logic up beyond recognition, then I'll have no choice but to switch back to a PC (or just use old, outdated Macs like I'm doing now).
The judges/juries in some cases decided that Samsung blatantly copied Apple. The judges/juries in some cases decided that Samsung did not blatantly copy Apple. Should Apple create versions of their website to suit all the cases? "If you live in a country where the judge doesn't like Apple, click here."
It's pretty obvious that Apple was the victim of Samsung making a concerted effort to copy their industry-leading product. And given Apple's history of losing in court when Microsoft stole their GUI design and even their code for QuickTime, Apple has a right to see courts as a hostile environment that will impact their bottom line. Now some of the specific examples of copyright infringement in these court cases were pretty stupid -- since when has there ever been a non-rectangular smartphone -- but the entire battle over software patents hinges on the commonly-held belief that copyrights on technology are holding back the industry as a whole. I'm not sure I buy that entirely. If you invent something, TRULY invent something new and practical, then you should be able to profit from that invention. A lot of these lawsuits seem frivolous to me. But Apple is right to thumb their nose at judgements that go against them when Samsung is clearly profiting from copying Apple's designs.
See Podcast App. See IOS Maps. See Ping.
Apple keeps fucking up and I'm sure if given a year more to fix iTunes, they'll still suck it up, because that's what they do.
Ever try to manage a 350gb+ music library with iTunes? It's the worst software I have to deal with at home. As a musician and ex-DJ, I have a huge music collection. iTunes starts to suck once you hit over 20gb. And their iCloud / iTunes integration will never work for me, because it would cost hundreds of dollars a year, and not have as wide a selection as I have at home.
1080p isn't as cool as 4k or 2500xwhatever, but it's a huge leap over 1380x768. Let's get all laptops to 1080p first, since it's less tech- and $- intensive
Songbird is for IOS, Android, web, not OSX or Windows
new simplified interface means I cannot view the list of all songs so I can drag them to a playlist. kinda sucks to be me.
Minecraft... on the MOTHERFUCKING moon

Tesla wanted robots fighting robots by wireless remote, so humans wouldn't have to participate in war.

I'm so sick of Samsung/Android ripping off Apple, and Apple in turn stealing their features. Someone needs to put a stop to this.
Fox owns the House, which is controlled by the GOP, so don't expect a full investigation stateside.

Apple doesn't think they're in the wrong. other courts judged in their favor.
