microsoft has almost daily updates my pc needs to download. is that what ubuntu is striving towards - making it a pain in the ass to set up a computer and just let it run?
i suggest monthly rollups of all the patches and improvements. because i don't want to dick with testing updates every day of the goddamned week
since the scanners are not able to make us safer, and they expose TSA workers and travellers to unsafe levels of radiation plus the fact that they're an expensive money gift to republicans who were involved in homeland security they should be stopped.
but because they're used daily to produce kiddie porn the manufacturers should be sued by the US government and all funds reimbursed to the US taxpayers.
anyone from TSA who grabs my junk will be fed a knuckle sandwich.
because political operatives for the GOP have basically skirted the law for decades pulling shit like this and the DOS attacks on democratic offices and phone systems.
how about billing $1 per song per PROVEN download by another person, since ~$1 the price on itunes.
and if that one song can be PROVEN to have been downloaded to 1000 people, it would cost a pirate $1000. if 1000 songs were downloaded by 1000 people, that's $1,000,000. But only if you can prove that actual harm was done - that those songs were actually downloaded by those people
The burden of proof should be on the RIAA; citizens should be judged as innocent until proven guilty.
Our courts (and juries) are complete fuckheads if they think a single song is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.
likely the french music industry pressured the government to give them these handouts, but in all reality, THE CURRENT SYSTEM MUST DIE so that a new and better system of music distribution and sales can replace it. Time to kill the fucking music industry dinosaurs.
the best way to address cell phone bill shock is to better regulate the cellphone industry so that they charge cheaper rates for their plans. Used to be a landline would run what, $25 a month? cellphone bills often run higher than $100/month; iphone plans are what, $150 after all the hidden fees and taxes? so until the FCC uses their regulatory powers for good, i doubt congress will fix the system that pretty much locks in consumers to 2 year contracts for overpriced phones and services.
I'm an IT pro with 20 years experience and there are NO IT jobs in my hometown. And since losing my job 2 months ago (which paid 40% less than the previous job), I look forward to finding an employer who respects my talents and background. But to do so will likely require moving to a larger metropolitan area where there's more competition for work and much higher living expenses.
Apple could release a program to compete with Photoshop and it might actually work all right. But I'm not sure they could make an entire line of products as good as Illustrator, Indesign, Flash, or Dreamweaver. It would require a great deal of effort and a large team of programmers to make viable alternatives to Adobe's stranglehold on creative products.
i've been trying for 5 weeks to get AT&T to fix my damned bill from 2006. i overpaid them due to a billing error on their part, and when they spun off their wireless services to cingular, they gave me a refund. now they say i can't buy a new iphone because i still owe them money. but they can't pull up my records so it's caught in this deathgrip of the AT&T "ICU process". bastards.
meanwhile, i tried to get a jailbroken iphone to work on tmobile and instead had to do a full restore, but then it froze and is stuck on the "connect to iTunes" screen. mutherfuck.
In fact, the Iranians chose the type of nuclear reactor that would produce nuclear fuel usable by both domestic and military plans precisely to hide how much nuclear fuel they're generating. And with all the additional centrifuges they've set up, it's clear that their military aim outweighs their domestic agenda. I think that is proof enough that they desire a weapons program without taking the responsibility that goes with such actions (like being hit by Israel in a pre-emptive strike).
after all iran's efforts to whitewash the internet and control what folks can access, for them to catch a virus and spread it all around is just PRICELESS. couldn't happen to a more worthy bunch of DICKS.
I love my Pod Pro XT guitar effects unit and refuse to record my guitar without it. I also run my bass through a Bass Pod Pro. Apple better not mess with Line 6, the guys who made these, because that will seriously piss me off.
i mean, this park will completely and utterly disregard how things work in the real world, but it worked for the Flintstones...

that's all we're asking as consumers of digital technology. it doesn't have to be the best, it just needs to work well enough.

if there are no viruses on OSX, why use an antivirus program? don't we have to wait for OSX to be compromised first?
windows 1 & 2 were pretty awful, even by the standards of the time. compared to MacOS 5 & 6, they were sucktacular.

well if steve jobs were to kick the bucket, i wonder if apple's board would allow their customers to pressure them into being more open?
what a terrible title
instead of pursuing the stolen copper cables, companies would be better off taking the insurance money and replacing the copper runs with fiber.

All the more reason for Google to replace facebook with a more trustable social network
yeah, they could upgrade the motherboards to support SATA3 and USB3 which likely wouldn't cost much dough.

then this story is a sign that we should bomb the fuck out of Peking. just because.
it would be cooler to have a ring than a moon, but that would probably screw up the tides.

don't blame the government. blame the idiot republicans who believe that taxes are evil and who would rather see no government than good governance.
until google can match skype's capabilities. i don't trust anyone who negotiates with facebook.
