I like Drupal and I'm running it at my job. I am not much of a programmer, more of an admin, but I can make it look the way I want by hacking around with the CSS and such. So far, no one has needed to do anything that can't be handled by modules. Those are easy to install, and they usually play nicely with other modules as well. It's a fine CMS.
I like, totally don't even know what a Virtual World Protocol is? Is that like AOL? *giggle*
Hey, will you like drive me to the mall? I'm supposed to be meeting Bobby there and we're so totally gonna make out! Thanks, you are like so cool. I'm so glad we're friends and you like fix my computer all the time. Hey, why do you look so sad?
Is it because of that Virtual World Protocol thingie? Maybe you can get a new one at Gamestop at the mall! Also, like, I'm totally gonna get my bellybutton pierced at Claire's! Oh my God, you know my mom's gonna freak, but I totally don't care!
If you understood anything at all about the HIV virus you would not promulgate this insipid argument. HIV is a retrovirus-it writes itself into your DNA, and you can't truly get rid of it (at least, not with today's technology). Don't let reality get in the way of your paranoid conspiracy theories.
I think it's unresponsive because the OS starts caching images for the Cover Flow view , although I'm not 100% certain on that. I wish there was a way to turn off album art, my 3G iPod was much faster without this 'upgrade.'
Wow, I thought this was a troll, but I heard then I heard the radio spot for it. Jared's new slogan is actually "Your only salvation to keep your fat cow from leaving you this year for your constant douchebaggery is to buy her some diamonds from Jared." Very edgy!
Think of it this way: Linux was created so that university computer scientists could have access to UNIX (or a reasonable facsimile) without paying for expensive, proprietary UNIX boxes by HP, SGI, or whatever. The project didn't make money in itself, but it did allow them to save a lot of money because they could use off-the-shelf Intel hardware for Linux.
The real appeal of free software is in reducing infrastructure costs. Just like roads, they don't normally generate money themselves, but they make it easier for businesses to interact and generate wealth!
I don't know why you think your iPod doesn't have volume controls. Have you tried the scroll wheel?
Also, the older, non-video displaying iPods work much better when going one step down. The newer ones have lag, I think from the OS caching album artwork. I don't need to look at album artwork, I just need to play the next song. Frustrating.
The AC is right. The US could have used the European or Japanese DTV standards, instead they chose their own, incompatible version. They could have used COFDM modulation, but they decided to go with 8VSB which is horrible for urban areas (but it requires less power, yay). Back in the 60's, they were clever enough to come up with standards that were simply, degraded gracefully, and stood the test of time.
ATSC over 8VSB: won't degrade gracefully, it's either/or, it won't work with moving targets, so there goes your Sony Watchman, and it won't be forwards compatible with NTSC, so there goes your old TV receiver. What happened to the FCC? They knew what they were doing 45 years ago. This digital transition has been a clusterfuck. And don't get me started on digital radio. No one will willingly switch to that horrible standard.
They do that on Playstation Home (for the PS3). Except, instead of giving rewards, they make you pay for costumes. There are previews for upcoming Sony/Columbia movies and ads for PS3 and PSN games. Playstation home is a spectacular failure any way you slice it, though.
As for the political stuff, I don't think it's gonna happen. There are a lot better ways to conduct opinion polls than through a game, which has to be ENTERTAINING first and foremost or it will be raked over the coals.
And in most cases, ads aren't the game itself anyway (the linked above is an exception). Usually, they're just branding tacked onto another game. Fender Guitars sponsors Rock Band, so your character can play virtual representations of actual Fender guitars. Snowboarding companies sponsor SSX Tricky and the like. It's not that obtrusive and actually adds to realism if it's done right.
Yeah, that's a great idea. Like slavery. Some people say it's evil to hold another human in bondage, and some people say it's the best way to make use of an inferior race. I guess if I take the middle view, I can see that sometimes it's a necessary evil.
Actually, copyright makes it much easier to earn a middle class living as a photographer, graphic designer, etc. And, you might notice that these professions are becoming more and more scarce with the advent of the web. Large corporations get people to do their work for them for free. They hold the copyrights...but they could do without them. The little guy taking photos or putting together graphic design work can't do without it.
Turtles in Time was one of the greatest games for SNES. However, the arcade game was kinda different. It had weird bosses like "Cement Man" that weren't in the SNES version. It was still a better game (4 player co-op overrules anything else) but it's strange they changed the bosses for the SNES version. Not that I'm complaining, mind you-it was a definite improvement!
The fact is, the 360 is a nasty rush job of a console. I know one person out of dozens with a 360 who hasn't had to take it back. The thermal engineer resigned in protest when he heard they were going to push it out the door in time for a holiday launch.
I wouldn't turn it down if you gave me one, but I am not going to buy a game console that I know has an expiration date. I have never had one fail on me...and I've owned everything from NES to Dreamcast to PS2. Downloaded content is essential to Xbox360 experience, and if I know it's going to fail and lose that info, it's not worth spending money to me.
That's not to say they haven't done some great things with the software...but still, that's what bothers me.
Monty Wideanus, eh? Reminds me of a certain other fellow I know!
Go ahead and mod me down, ya humps! Karma is just pain leaving the body!

I have the exact same experience.

Nerd rage, muthafucka! Don't cross me or I won't help you install Windows XP!
The FCC does not regulate cable, only over-the-air broadcasts. This only went out to Comcast cable subscribers.
Does the Atom processor make the Internet faster? Because if not, I'm going back to a P4!
Dunno about anything else, but the Rock Band stuff is always on Thursdays.

I wish that he would have mentioned some way to run MAME, that's better than SNES games anyway.
Also, here is a way to run a fast Mplayer on PS3 Linux. This custom version of Mplayer uses the SPUs. I have an 80 GB PS3 and I'm eager to try some of this stuff out.

Dolphin's tail is my
plan for submarine
plan for submarine
plan for submarine
Using foam is
the way to keep it cheap
the way to keep it cheap
the way to keep it cheap
And our friends love making tails
There's no way
That we can fail
And there's air inside our tanks
(HORN SECTION GO!)
I don't have a 360, so it would have had to be PS3 or PC for me.
Sounds like they focused mostly on the 360 version to the detriment of the other platforms. I never played the old Fallouts, so no big loss for me!

Although I have to say, I love iTunes.

Where have you been? Ads posing as video games are nearly 30 years old.

Yeah, but that guy on the front of the Norton box looks so knowledgeable and trustworthy! I'd trust him with my computer in a second!

World War II: Rosevelt (D). (more dead americans than any war in history)
Ahem...the Civil War is on line 2, it wants to know why you never call anymore. Did you forget it?
