Couldn't agree more! The number of actual wiretaps has probably doubled, they just "forgot" to request permission for the new ones, plus 14% of the normal ones.

Freeware OpenAudIT works well too for a systems discovery / inventory tool. Runs great on a small linux box with php, mysql, apache. Interface to nmap, can collect all hardware, OS, Network info, as well as installed software and patches. Base setup took me about 15 minutes.

Wonder if I can obtain a 900 number for my cell phone. At least then the robocalling pricks have to pay me to talk to me. $1000 per minute seems fair.

  9. Jack of all trades on Cross Skilling Across Multi-OS Platforms? · · Score: 1

I think that it is neccessary to at least have a working knowledge of various OS's. I am a UNIX Admin, but have also been a Windows admin/desktop support/network admin/VMS admin/linux admin/database developer & admin. I have the most knowledge in UNIX/Linux, but also have formed a good working knowledge of Windows admin needs as I find that I often need to be aware of those when configuring unix boxes on an MS AD network. Best bet is to at least be able to do the basics across the board, while being the master in one or two.

  10. Re:I still think it's a good deal on Blockbuster Settles No Late Fee Suit · · Score: 1

As the spouse of a BBI employee, and a frequent visitor to their stores, the No late Fees terms and conditions were clearly posted at each register and were being explained in detail by all cashiers in my observation. Anyone who sued because they were too stupid to read the details under the banner or ask for clarification should just cancel their memberships. The company is better off without whiners and complainers who misinterpret policies to their own benefit as customers. I know of customers prior to the No Late Fees deal that had late fees removed from their accounts 10+ times claiming they "didn't know they had to return it on time instead of 5 days later". each time, the policy was explained to them, yet they all lie, connive, and cheat to cover up for their mistakes... Oh NO... THEY COULD NEVER DO ANY WRONG, IT MUST BE THE BIG,BAD COMPANY! All the complainers, go rent at Hollywood or somewhere else, see if they put up with your crap too.

  12. Re:Pentax K-1000 on Best 35mm SLR Camera for Beginners? · · Score: 1

I couldn't agree more... the Pentax K-1000 is a fine manual 35mm camera, I've used one for years (even used a telescope as a telephoto lens with an adaptor I bought for $10. Otherwise, I'd vote for a Canon Rebel series, full manual or full auto, lenses are plentiful, and made by a variety of suppliers (low end to high end). Also, for those interested in the "benefits" of APS Film (panorama, compact, or large on the same film), I recommend the Canon EOS IX. I have one, works just like my Rebel, but APS. Definetly useful for group photos & landscapes in panoramic mode, full auto or manual use, and I got it new, with 2 lenses for $249.00.
