  1. Re:Did they get rid of the fake lens flares? on Review: Star Trek: Into Darkness · · Score: 1

For me, the problem is that they're distracting, in the same way that a company logo's is during a movie show on TV, even when off in a corner (to prevent copying and reselling the movie).

Especially with all the lens flares jokes going around on the Internet, its like someone said to me "look at that yellow car", and now I'm noticing ALL the yellow cars around me.

Its really distracting to me, and pulls me out of the story/movie.

Good riddance to them. As a native Californian, who has lived in other states (Texas, Arizona, etc.), I love that my state laws protect me from corporations bad practices.

Also, if you were right, we would not be in such a hurry to do business in China. Business goes where the customers are at. There's a VERY high threshold of anti-business practices before a corporation will forgo profits and move on.

Its ok to make it harder for corporations to make money, as long as its fair/reasonable. They'll make better products, that serves people better.

    People > Corporations.

Unless EA starts astroturfing to bring the ratings up, I suspect this game is pretty much doomed to be a total bust, at least as far as sales on Amazon are concerned. You don't just "get over" that strong a negative reaction to your product.

If you look at MetaCritic User Reviews for SimCity, the user reviews that have a '10' score, you'd think EA is already astroturfing.

Ok, so I've read that article twice, and I don't see where it disproves the 'myth' that the original QWERTY keyboard was laid out in a way to prevent the keys from sticking on the 1st gen typewriters. It talks about disproving that Dvorak keyboard layout is better, but didn't see anything about the jamming keys myth busted.

I'm nursing a coffee from a night of no sleep, so maybe its just me, but if you could point me to the relevant text that its been proven to be a myth?
