For me, the problem is that they're distracting, in the same way that a company logo's is during a movie show on TV, even when off in a corner (to prevent copying and reselling the movie).
Especially with all the lens flares jokes going around on the Internet, its like someone said to me "look at that yellow car", and now I'm noticing ALL the yellow cars around me.
Its really distracting to me, and pulls me out of the story/movie.
Good riddance to them. As a native Californian, who has lived in other states (Texas, Arizona, etc.), I love that my state laws protect me from corporations bad practices.
Also, if you were right, we would not be in such a hurry to do business in China. Business goes where the customers are at. There's a VERY high threshold of anti-business practices before a corporation will forgo profits and move on.
Its ok to make it harder for corporations to make money, as long as its fair/reasonable. They'll make better products, that serves people better.
Unless EA starts astroturfing to bring the ratings up, I suspect this game is pretty much doomed to be a total bust, at least as far as sales on Amazon are concerned. You don't just "get over" that strong a negative reaction to your product.
If only the game reviewing industry would help out with this. I'm trying to comprehend out how the metacritic metascore is at 91, and the user score is at 2.7.
Ok, so I've read that article twice, and I don't see where it disproves the 'myth' that the original QWERTY keyboard was laid out in a way to prevent the keys from sticking on the 1st gen typewriters. It talks about disproving that Dvorak keyboard layout is better, but didn't see anything about the jamming keys myth busted.
I'm nursing a coffee from a night of no sleep, so maybe its just me, but if you could point me to the relevant text that its been proven to be a myth?
What I read so far seems to indicate that it was making money, not costing money. If that's right, then I'd like to know the REAL reason for closing it down.
Can't remember the episode of SGA, but didn't they say travel from Milky Way to Pegasus galaxies was a "weeks" trip?
So yeah, you could still do the trip if it took a year or two, but you'd have to find them too, once you got into the same galaxy. The show doesn't really cover the whole navigation/big-assed Universe thing much.
Stargate was always about one thing. Explore other worlds by people who want to do it by their free will. Show how humans explore the galaxy solving riddles of great age.
Stargate Universe is basically a survival horror series. And a bad one as well. You can see all plot twists from a mile away and all the characters act like they are all stupid to no end, just like a old horror movie.
Good it died.
And it drag out so slowly. Sad thing was it was actually starting to get good (better pacing, more story and not just emo time), just before the cancellation.
Just put sky marshals back on domestic flights again, and be done with it. Don't care how much the airlines bitch and moan about the additional costs. Its gotta be more sane to go back to that then all this we're dealing with now.
We can go the route of labor unions in the US, who succeeded in propping up jobs for their membership for a couple decades, before the whole structure collapsed into bankruptcy and massive plant closings.
You are assuming 1) that all unions have failed, and 2) that plant closings were caused by unions, and not corporations moving jobs overseas to maximize profits no matter what.
When you've been out of work for a year, I want my President to be a Leader, not a Politician.
We're really hurting over here. Its not "business as usual". I get it, he's visiting a foreign land, and he wants to make peaceful gestures, but its the wrong time for him to be saying what he said.
Damn wrong time.
And this is coming from someone who voted for him.:(

People > Corporations.
I don't know, 'dot matrix' printers are pretty cheap.
We are calling this life form unclassified and unidentified," he added.'"
shittiest name ever!
Could be worse. Could be 'Odo'.

If you look at MetaCritic User Reviews for SimCity, the user reviews that have a '10' score, you'd think EA is already astroturfing.
If only the game reviewing industry would help out with this. I'm trying to comprehend out how the metacritic metascore is at 91, and the user score is at 2.7.
Which one is legally binding, the privacy link, or the position link?
In keeping with the new Star Trek movies, they should be called "Lens" and "Flare".
Minecraft: Pi Edition
They'll just hire the out of work middle to fight for them, gladiator style.
That was actually done in an earlier Next Generation episode.
Personally, I'm still hung up on having a brewery for an engine room.

They'd be mother-fucking OEM snakes on the mother-fucking OEM plane.

You forgot Oliver Klovesauf.
And here I thought an eye patch was there to protect the pirate from the parrot.
Haven't you noticed how the eye patch is always on the same side as the parrot, who is sitting on the pirate's shoulder?

You know, people like kicking Stargate Infinity around, but it really wasn't that bad of a show, considering it was written for a young audience.

No it hasn't.
At least not as a Stargate series.

I asked my 19 year old son this same question, and he answered with "Nobody uses email anymore. We just text each other." /shrug
