    12 is old. At 12 I was going to college in the evening doing a C programming course. What if my parents had been too restrictive and were afraid of me going out at night to let me do that?

    haha the exact same thing happened to me.

    When I left for uni, I didn't speak to my dad for many years afterwards - at all.

    I hate parents that say "my house my rules" - I mean, what alternative do you have? Having said that, my brother said screw this and left home at 12 and went into a foster home, so I guess there are alternatives.

    I loved uni - the freedom at last from my parents.

    Screw you dad!

    I used to (tele)sell sliding and folding walls. (You know the partitions). The maximum reductions we did were 100db, however in practice the limiting factor was the ceiling and surrounding walls.

    So you could probably get that 140db reduction with a good wall between you and the rocket.

    I'm not sure how this is relevant to my comment, since I stated nothing about the punishment.

    But you do provide a good equivalent to music sharing. If you bought a t-shirt off a shady guy, that you wouldn't have bought otherwise, then they aren't losing money.

    I'm not decided either way whether this is good or bad. They shouldn't have done the crime if they can't do the time - as they say.

    However, your argument is slightly flawed. If I copy say 1000's worth of music and give it to someone else who wouldn't have bought it, then I'm not costing anyone anything, so it's not the same as stealing say 1000 car.

    This is why we need something like .NET

    I often wish to use programming languages other than C++, but the library bindings aren't there.

    For example, I'm currently struggling to use libkabc from C# so I can use the kontact name and addressbook.

    Use kdevelop to create a new .ui file. (File->new file->ui file or something - it's been a long time)

    Then edit the .ui file in qt designer (when you click on it to edit it, it should ask you - you may need to set the mime type correctly). Then edit it in qt designer, and save it.

    If you google for "kdevelop qt designer" you'll find lots of guides.

    a) Your logic is screwed up. Saying that one doesn't like to read others code can not be concluded to that it would be counterproductive.

    b) He can look at the code all he wants, and use it to work out how the device works, and then write his own driver.

    Just looking at GPL code doesn't mean you can't then write your own proprietry code. What you can't do is just copy and paste the code.
