    Generalizing a whole population based on the antics of a subset is global phenomena. I'll do just that with a finer grained version for those who care to know:

    Austin = main stream
    Dallas, Houston, San Antonio = mildly right leaning
    Lubbock, Amarillo = rabid t-party/bible thumping zones
    Rural = scary stuff

    I understand that Fedora is an experimental platform for bleeding edge changes, but if you take the perpetual beta status too far, nobody will bother to do your testing.

    They are starting to act like a cornered animal, trying to pull out many of their old monopolistic tricks out of their war chest.

    Or maybe they are developing what they believe is better technology in a time frame better suited to their needs. I guess you see what you want to see. Yes, they have a spotty past. If they neutered every project in fear of appearing anti-competetive, they would be dead in short order.

    The Apple 2 red book had schematics, timing diagrams, and source listing for the system monitor. The tattered thing still sits on my shelf. The Commodore 64 had schematics as well. Those were the days.

    I, an out of shape old man, was able to walk around Mauna Kea (13,700 ft) without much problem as long as you move slow. 16K feet would probably put me on my ass. FYI: While visiting the area, go up Mauna Kea in the day and at night. The landscape with all the observatories is mind blowing in the sun and at night.
