Someone seriously needs to create an app that if you use the "correct finger" an app springs in action and wipes the phone. Using your middle finger to unlock your phone and all the sudden the device gets wiped.:)
So my question is how are some of these local co-ops doing it in turns of starting their own? I mean I am assuming I cannot start digging trenches and connecting all my neighbors but I would be willing to bet I could probably get my whole neighborhood on board if we start a co-op trench digging party if you want in on fiber. I am sure the lawyers would descend on us like a herd of buffalo but regardless I do not see it changing any other way short of people taking back the purchasing power since I know for a fact the ONLY choice I have for cable in my area is Comcast.
Are there any credit cards in the US that actually offer the "newer" CHIP/PIN cards? I am also assuming that the readers have to recognize these cards as well.....
The fiber project has to be one heck of a cool project to work on. Would love to be a part of that one. Heck, I was downsized on Monday so out of work so if you are listening Google, I am officially available.
Other than the functional ability of moving my brain around from location A to location B and replicating, isn't the body more or less a tactile feedback machine for my brain more or less?
I have always thought of my brain as being the little alien dude in Men In Black controlling that mechanical body.
I could not agree more. With the vast distances involved, with no 'real-time' communication being possibly, each new world someone colonizes is essentially a node almost unconnected from the rest.
Talk about the potential for new expansions in evolution in the human tree.
Not sure where you were looking, but CAT 5e has gone up in the past year or so actually. Not by A LOT, but some yes. I never paid that much for CAT 5e though. You can get it pretty cheap, between 55 and 70 bucks the last time I looked for 1000ft. CAT 6 is closer to 100 bucks for 1000ft.
Of course that is not in bulk, so I am sure you may be able to find it even a bit cheaper.
Why has the Open Source community not jumped on this band wagon and started programming a open source voting app? I mean it really cannot be too hard right?! vote_new = vote_old + 1
I can see the guys point where protein folding does us more good. But also, what the hell does he care, its someones computer, let them do whatever they want with it. I am still waiting for the Search for Intelligent Life on Earth distrubuted computing!
But I am wondering, the ones that are doing cancer, protein folding, all that stuff, what ones actually are for the good of us all? I do not want to be doing one that is going to be going to some mega-corp where it gets patented tomorrow and sold to us for 349843904893 dollars in a week.

Someones need to create the Firefox extension to show when I have events now just like the GMail notifier.
TiVo just really needs to have greater flexibility on scheduling is what it comes down too. I have also noticed this with ER and CSI too. It drives me crazy!
For what its worth, I have been using Broadvoice at home for my VoIP for about 2 weeks now. Me and the finace just moved into our first house, and decided I had had enough paying money to the local monopoly phone company for basic phone service with none of the bells and whistles.
So we got Broadvoice and its been working very very well so far. We only got the 10 dollar a month plan, for unlimited in state calling, out of state is like 3.9 cents or something like that. Both we both have cell phones, so if we need to call outta state, we use those.
I have called many people to test out the phone line, and they are always impressed by it, cause its clear!! Very clear. Plus the topper is that we get all the extra features, like voicemail, call waiting, three way calling, ALL those extra things that would make a analog phone line cost 50 bucks a month. Its working out great.
Most VoIP do not charge taxes other than maybe a dollar or so. I know like a $1.30 or something with Broadvoice, so my monthly bill is $11.30 i think.
my buddy has had this mouse for a while now. and i used it the last time i was over there and i did not like it one bit.
like the first poster said, my hand shakes enough to two dimensions. that is exactly right. i tried it from across the room and it was tough to get it to do what you wanted because of this.
I have a pen drive and i use it all the time here at work. And we mainly have all Dell Dimesions here too, which are decent computers. The Dimensions have the front USB's BUT there are in a horrible place. It would be a whole lot more convient if their placement was a little more practical!!
that is exactly what i was thinking. i dont know how the 8 forms of ID i have already are any different. if you dont think that all that information is not recorded....gimme a break! if anything, i would rather ALMOST have one piece of ID so that i dont have to carry around the other 8 of them.
This meetup thing i just found out about today. But it happens once every month? Cause there is no way i would be able to meet today on such a short notice, but in a month from now, that would be a different story.
blah blah blah
i think unless you get out there and actually start doing shit, you will not learn a thing. you can read outta a book all day, but unless you actually start trying you aint got a thing!

SciFi has been going downhill since they cancelled Farscape. The ONLY thing saving it right now is BSG.

so how long before you are able to get this on the gphone......
What happens if it plays itself then?!

I do not know about you guys, but I will goto the book store, JUST to go. I can spend an hour looking at all kinds of books in a blink of an eye.

One more thing, I live in Michigan, and have comcast cable modem for an internet provider.
