...then you certainly won't use any. If you do know some and are comfortable with it you will find many uses. On the other hand if you struggle resentfully through the minimum required math certain that you will find no use for it, you will be right.
We can only hope. Aren't we already getting a language a week, some FORTRAN with capricious syntax changes, others FORTRAN with horrific kluges grafted on? (actually, all with capricious syntax changes).
I also wonder what people 10 years ago would have thought about having a semi-public list of your friends online. "Way too personal, I would never disclose something like that..."
Twenty years ago we considered it normal to put your address and phone number in your.sig.
Some of my friends have drug problems, some are gay, some are members of the armed forces, some vote left or right wing, so I should be joining them all?
You've already identified yourself as weird: you have friends who aren't like you. This is not "normal".
Seriously, "because lots of other people are doing it" has been used to excuse some obscene things in the past.
And present. And future. Of course, said "things" do not become "obscene" until calling them that becomes "what everyone is doing".
Publicly funded sports y and facilities can be a spur for economic growth...
Nonsense. Commercial sports activitities such as the olympics are entertainment. They are fine for those who choose to expend their own resources on them but funding them with tax money forces people who get no value from them to pay for them and diverts resources away from productive uses. They no more "spur economic growth" than would hiring people to go around smashing windows in order to "create jobs" for glaziers.
I still don't think we need scientists figuring out how to get rid of wrinkles.
Wait until you have some and then say that again.
In any case, skin wrinkles are not just a matter of appearance. They result from the loss of flexibility of the largest organ in your body. Restoring skin flexibility would be a step toward reversing the effects of age.
If FB were "priced right" at IPO, it might "perform better" but I don't see how that has any positive benefits for the pre-IPO shareholders.
None, for them. The IPO participants (that is, those who were privileged to buy directly at the IPO price), however, would have made a profit. These are often people the company wanted to reward. They got punished instead.
That's what I do as well. The rule is "Look in the little black book".
As has been recently demonstrated, you cannot count on the backend storing your passowrd with any security either.
...then you certainly won't use any. If you do know some and are comfortable with it you will find many uses. On the other hand if you struggle resentfully through the minimum required math certain that you will find no use for it, you will be right.
No. You're our Big Brother's police department.
The linked table indicates that in the USA only Clearwire (a wireless provider) does any measurable throttling at all.
We can only hope. Aren't we already getting a language a week, some FORTRAN with capricious syntax changes, others FORTRAN with horrific kluges grafted on? (actually, all with capricious syntax changes).
Now maybe they will go off on their own and leave Linux alone.

Ideas are not protected by USA copyright.
Yes, he screwed up, but so did Yahoo.
This is why we have the concept of contributory negligence. If he and Yahoo are found to have contributed equally he will only get half his damages.
What's regrettable about it if it works?
The Chinese are not beating the USA "back to the moon". They are going for the first time. The USA has already beaten them by more than forty years.
You couldn't ask for a louder "demand" than a $440M loss.
I bought one Nvidia card because of their wonderful Linux support. I'll never buy another.
Did the check bounce?

It is extremely unlikely that the CIA needs or wants to know anything at all about you.
Twenty years ago we considered it normal to put your address and phone number in your .sig.
> ...nobody uses LinkedIn on purpose.
How does one use LinkedIn by accident?
> GET OFF MY LAWN, YA DAMN KIDS!
You won't qualify to use that phrase for another thirty years.
Now get off my lawn.
