    I think when they say tipping point, they mean bifurcation point which is just the transition from one limit cycle to another. But dumbed down so people can repeat it and sound like they know what they're talking about.

    I remember the max temperature of 323 in 1990, It sucked, but not any more than any other summer day.

    A btu (british thermal unit) is the same as watt. Actually, it is the same as a joule, but more often people skip that part and instead mean btu/hr.

    1btu=1055J

    1btu(per hour)= 0.2931watts=1055J/3600sec

    I think Th on a home ac is around 350, and as long as it's cooler than that outside it will blow 285 inside. Efficiency goes down and more energy is required as Th->Tamb

    As Detroit Electric continued their decline, they bought car bodies from other manufacturer's (DeSoto I believe) and performed a relatively simple conversion.

    AFAIK, there have always been third party aftermarket conversion kits available.

    This exactly. Companies that I've worked for were far ahead in technology than any of the schools that I attended. Additionally, we were better funded and fed data and results back to professors quite often.

    Most people aren't primarily motivated by making money. Or else everyone would have two or three jobs and sleep 2-4 hours a day, right?

    They sure like complaining about not having enough of it. That's one way of getting it.

    How easy do you think it will be for disgruntled truck drivers to smear some mud on said radar disabling the truck until someone can drive out to clear it off? Handheld GPS spoofing will become a hot item on ebay.

    They're low paid

    My friend makes $150k/year. But then he's certified to haul everything except nuclear waste. It takes a lot of training and 15+ years experience.

    Yup. That's exactly what I did (except I only charged $15). I can look out my front window and see half a dozen business opportunities that I wonder why people aren't taking.

    Unplug from wall, remove cover, tap out chuck,pull bearing,press new bearing in, insert chuck, screw cover back on.
