A car is a human right, so is a house. I am not so sure about boats and planes.
You have the right to own a car if you can afford to buy it. It is not quite true for internet access since not all areas are wired ( talking about high-speed ). So basically, the right to use the internet does not mean it's free, but that it is accessible if you can pay for it at a market value. Water isn't, but your right to it is the fact that if you can pay - you can use it.
I was going to mod you down, however, I decided to waste my chance to moderate this interesting discussion, in order to correct you.
The text that you bolded does not imply theft. "the additional media packs" have been designed independently by the FreeCraft project. The engine has also been written by them. So, the entire bundle FreeCraft + FCMP is not 100% property of FreeCraft.
The only issues are issues of whether making software clones is allowed and improper naming. There is no theft involved.
If clones are not allowed, then say goodbye to projects like xpde, scummvm, samba and even wine. I think Blizzard went way over their line here...Can the FSF attorneys help out in this case?
Actually, if you are planning on playing video games on the same computer, you should anticipate an even longer wait. That said, though, gentoo is the least half-ass linux distro of all. Being half-ass is the linux tradition of doing everything quick, some distros are just bad at it and, and some distros are too afraid to do it, and with no ass are not sexy at all. Be careful, as BSDs tend to be much more professional than any linux distro, but as such are sometimes refered to as Full Ass.
Why do Windows people get all these features. I don't even have a way to test it. Damn you Microsoft Monopoly. Damn you Konqui for refusing to crash when most needed.
Proxy servers send you the file only after the remote website has initiated the send. I.e. the proxy server verifies whether the file is current. Proxy servers aren't mirrors. However, it may be the case that when the remote server doesn't want to provide such information, there is no way to verify the version.
In n number of years everyone will own their own "conceptualized" property and will thus respect that of others due to fear of having their own compromised. It was the same with material property before civilization.
Thinking of what great game Duke3D was... It used to surprise you pleasantly and humorously here and there and here's 3DRealms releasing its source on APRIL 1st (after you were depressed by all those other jokes). This is soo making me want to play that game again...
Forget DNF... it will probably never be up to the greatest 3d shooter gameplay-wise. I will expect many more people interested in porting this game rather than ROTT, so this may also help ROTT get ported since I assume they have somewhat similar codebase.
Thanks 3DRealms, you can delay DNF forever but you have made the greatest gift already.
Government is to reduce violence. If kiddie-porn exchange does not result in violence, any government involvement would be violation of Free Speech. Same goes for offensive content. Now, about terrorism, if you, with full knowledge of the possibility of you helping out to have violence comitted, still do it, you are a criminal. However the term terrorism is used too loosely these days, it is just the food for any type of fish.
And secure mail is as secure as Freenet, so even though it doesn't protect from kiddie porn and terrorism, would you take advice and not use PGP?
rivafb doesn't get along with nvidia's modules, however vesafb works mostly fine (sometimes svgalib and X when running together have some problems). Rivafb is accelerated, and vesafb is not. I would sure love to see a complimentary framebuffer driver released by nVidia or a non-conflicting rivafb driver.
I used debian for a while before using Gentoo, and it used to be that if you ran Woody ("testing" back then) you could equally fine install "unstable" software by adding the necessary apt-source. Since Woody is "stable" now things may have changed, but the apt system itself should allow it unless explicitly somehow denied.
"At 13.7 billion years old, it's just slightly (~1 billion years) younger than the universe itself"
Well, that answers the chicken & egg problem!

But wouldn't the person who pirated the code be aware of what he exactly pirated and proceed to clean it up anyways?
Which would of course mean that SCO has used GCC-suited code stolen from the GNU community.
There should moderation: Sad
If you own a copy of Windows 95 you would need to pay for the whole upgrade, even if you just wanted Internet Explorer.
This is interesting.
Now, however, everybody will know Duane Bailey has forged his/her own paychecks.
env USE="+ipv6 -gnome" emerge xchat
I do agree however more ( and more intuitive ) command line options ( this is just a workaround ) should exist.

Not everything makes sense on Cinco de Mayo

I guess that also means a lot of external users will feed on your bandwidth. I don't think a small ISP would like that.

Here is the solution:

But they recall your car for its lifetime if something was wrong in the assembly line. Why should this be different?
I am surprised almost no one noticed that one of the guys is a software engineer at an internal Microsoft graphics department.
It shows that either the Slashdot public doesn't read the articles, or it has matured enough to not pay attention to such "exotic" details.
I myself have obviosly not matured.

Mr. Kosher?
Subject says it, it is so innocently cute & funny.
This is FUD, KDE file dialogs have tab completion and even automatic shading of suggested completions

It's been working since the 4.2.99 series, however I haven't been able to get my sound to work
