You have the right to own a car if you can afford to buy it. It is not quite true for internet access since not all areas are wired ( talking about high-speed ). So basically, the right to use the internet does not mean it's free, but that it is accessible if you can pay for it at a market value. Water isn't, but your right to it is the fact that if you can pay - you can use it.

I was going to mod you down, however, I decided to waste my chance to moderate this interesting discussion, in order to correct you.

The text that you bolded does not imply theft. "the additional media packs" have been designed independently by the FreeCraft project. The engine has also been written by them. So, the entire bundle FreeCraft + FCMP is not 100% property of FreeCraft.

The only issues are issues of whether making software clones is allowed and improper naming. There is no theft involved.

If clones are not allowed, then say goodbye to projects like xpde, scummvm, samba and even wine. I think Blizzard went way over their line here...Can the FSF attorneys help out in this case?

Actually, if you are planning on playing video games on the same computer, you should anticipate an even longer wait. That said, though, gentoo is the least half-ass linux distro of all. Being half-ass is the linux tradition of doing everything quick, some distros are just bad at it and, and some distros are too afraid to do it, and with no ass are not sexy at all. Be careful, as BSDs tend to be much more professional than any linux distro, but as such are sometimes refered to as Full Ass.

Forget DNF... it will probably never be up to the greatest 3d shooter gameplay-wise. I will expect many more people interested in porting this game rather than ROTT, so this may also help ROTT get ported since I assume they have somewhat similar codebase.
