    Why do you assume the registry is in question? How about text file configurations with a GUI front end. That's all I'm asking for. That way, you have the best of both worlds. The parent poster is right on though, why the hell should your *have* to edit them by hand.

    Umm, since when CAN'T you change the mime types in windows? That's not the point. The point is that there are may apps that use the html dlls directly. Removing those would cause it to not function anymore.
