"This invention is yet another testimonial that Dr. Laroussi and his colleagues in the college think boundlessly when it comes to applying such disruptive technologies so innovatively."
That is unusual! I donated a couple of things (a 3com card with onboard encryption and a broadcast card) and was always answered promptly. Keep trying! These guys love getting new toys!

I recently did an Ask Slashdot on this same

Had really good luck with jOrbis from www.jcraft.com. I just added the applet to my Shame of the 80's site. It seems to work everywhere, unlike most java applets... could be that it does exactly one thing: plays ogg streams.:-)

Derby is designed to work in JDK1.3 (JDBC 2.0) and JDK 1.4 (JDBC 3.0) environments. For this reason both JDK1.3 and JDK1.4 are required for the build environment. The build is set up so that most of the code is compiled against JDK 1.3 libraries so that no dependency on JDK 1.4 classes exist, except for the code that only runs in JDK1.4. In addition Derby's JDBC 2.0 implementation must compile against JDBC 2.0 class definitions and naturally the JDBC 3.0 implementation against JDBC 3.0 class definitions.
Solid maybe, but for crying out loud... This reminds me of the first time I got psycopg working between python and PostGreSQL.:-)

Hot Damn!
This looks like the simplest solution. I have implemented it, while also adding links to some of the suggested packages as well.
Thanks EABinGA!

This is certainly damning. If it's not too much trouble, could you post references? I'd like to read it for myself.
Nope, I just installed the plug-in and tried it on NYT. It works great.
