I hate to break this to you, but technically, 33 bit is double 32 bits.
No, it's not. Having double the number of possible values in a register does not mean that it is "double". A "33-bit" machine, if one existed, could only operate on slightly larger chunks of data than a "32-bit" machine. The original poster is correct.
I don't want it overheating while in a compile...as an error could easily be compiled into code and be almost impossible to track down a bug....or so I've heard.
Normally for dupes I like to have a quick scan of the original to pilfer some highly moderated comments as part of my on going karma whoring policy.

I just heard some sad news on talk radio - COBOL standardizer/Father of ASCII Bob Bemer was found dead in his Texas home this morning.
Why is this marked Interesting? Hello, mods?
This is obviously a takeoff on the "Stephen King was found dead.." troll post.
About the only useful info a cracker would find in /etc/password is usernames, and if he can see that file to begin with, he's already got a login.
Yeah, and a huge list of email addresses. In the case of the grandparent, about 183,000.
Was it Patton or Macarthur who said, "Shoot 'em all, and let God sort them out"?
Rumsfeld, I believe.
The top tax bracket (for >$400,000) was 91% in the 50s and 60s, and right now it's only 39.6%.
I believe the top bracket is only 35% after the Bush tax cuts.
There's something about those models that make the ship look bigger and more real than the CGI stuff from TNG.
The models in TNG did not use CGI.
