The whole 'war against the west' began before the invasion of Iraq, even before 9/11. One could argue that it began at the Gulf War - or at least this phase of it - when Saudi Arabia invited the US in - and told us we could stay - because they feared Iraqi aggression.
So 'occupying territory' is moot in this argument.
Well, since there is no draft at the moment, nor is there likely to be one anytime soon, that comment is moot. Where do you draw the line , though; was a WWII draft appropriate? Korea?
As for violent dictator in country A versus country B, last I noted the US was bombing both nations.
The support for repressive governments in Latin America is not right.
Explain Cuba? Not backing Castro is consistent with American values - Cuba is HARDLY a bastion of freedom.
Oh, I'm not saying you're wrong. All I'm saying is 'income is better than no income.'
Personally unless I had no other choice, I'd rather not work at amazon in ANY of their jobs.
I live very rural and have five college degrees, am an avid reader, and hunt and shoot. Sorry, your stereotypes aren't really all that valid. I know a lot of folks in my area who aren't people who did higher education - but they are not stupid by any means. I know a lot of ranchers who are very bright men - and they are almost all men, yes, that's true - but they have to be smart to compete.
So I think it's easy for folks on both sides of this divide not to realize that there isn't that much difference between 'rurals' and 'urbans.' This study is just silly - there are a lot of folks who do not live in urban areas because they ARE more expensive than rural areas who are ALREADY disabled and on medicaid and/or some kind of disability income. I know a number of them. Some do indeed have lifestyles that are unhealthy with too much drink, etc. but this is hardly universal.
Who said that?
Many people said 'most of these are shit jobs.' Well, people without skills that are in high demand do get paid less than those who have skills in high demand, but 'routine' not hugely high paying jobs are not necessarily shit jobs. Oh they could be...
What is a 'good job' and what is a 'shit job'?
I'm fortunate enough to have employer provided good care.
For the non-medicaid folks I know who have ACA care...they may have insurance but they can't afford the >3K deductible each year.
So..do they have healthcare? Or don't they?
You know, you city moochers just don't understand where your food comes from. Hint: it isn't the supermarket. Roads et al exist and are paid for to extract resources - in this instance, agricultural products - from rural areas. It is NOT out of the goodness of the heart of the urban population.
Not in the slightest. As for gym memberships being at an all time high, I'd be more interested in seeing the utilization of these memberships.
I see it every January - from 2 January - > 20 January gyms are crowded. By 1 February, not so much.
I agree with you about the whole fat thing - replacing fat with carbs is a bad idea.
But I also know this: Coca Cola used to come in 16 ounce bottles for "regular consumption" aka what you bought out of a machine. Now, they are 20 or 24 ounces. The "small" soda cup at Burger King is what used to be a "large" one. Ditto for individual packages of potato chips, etc.
My point is more than people are eating more of EVERYTHING not just carbs versus fat.
Physically having media on which intangibles such as computer programs or music is recorded IS a good thing. No one can dispute your ownership of it. With download items, they can be fetched back off your device, as Amazon did with Orwell's book, 1984.
I have, occasionally, had offers to interview at both major tech employers in Seattle. My response each time has been "If I wanted to live in a dreary , rainy climate, I'd move to England - at least that's a cool place to live, unlike Seattle.
Having a populace that aren't sheep will solve this. But no, we couldn't have that, otherwise they'd know they were being screwed in all kinds of ways.
And yet the UK was the mandatory power, so indeed, they were.

No more so than any other one, really. What the democrats won't admit is they're still racist elitists.
Yeah it's better than nothing, but still not exactly *affordable* but better than paying for all of it.

Um, I live in an extremely rural area and do just that.
I'm fortunate enough to have employer provided good care. For the non-medicaid folks I know who have ACA care...they may have insurance but they can't afford the >3K deductible each year. So..do they have healthcare? Or don't they?
No, there are shit rural areas just like shit urban areas. Sorry you're stuck in a shit rural area.

Don't let the left hear you. They want 90% unemployment and people dying in the streets.
Funny, it was a Democrat admin in power when the Tuskeegee experiment happened.

8track never took off for recording your own music, but I assure you, it was big for purchasing music to be played at home.

Rather like Mr. Obama taking claims for things...he uses 'I' far more than Trump ever could.

So what? If folks don't want the jobs they don't have have to take them. If they need the jobs they'll be there. Income is better than no income...

It's already called every celebrity in Hollywood!
It might explain why people of the US have gotten dramatically stupider since then.
Have you seen British teeth in recent decades? Theirs are nicer than those of us who live in the US, now.
Less exercise?
