if by class, you mean socio-economic class and not "cultural", I would say moving up the ladder is completely doable if you aren't already middle class. Do your school work in high school, get a need based scholarship to college, and get a solid job making $100k+ doing engineering or accounting or medicine by the time you are 30.
A socio-economic class of a person doing engineering or medicine for $100k salary is "worker", same as for a janitor (both derive income exclusively from labor and not from property or control of others' labor).
Did you know, Adobe Acrobat has the ability to analyze a PDF which is compromised entirely of scanned pages from a book, perform OCR on it and then actually allows you to perform regular text searching in it as well as highlight and copy the bit-mapped text from the PDF as if it were actual ASCII text?
OCR is a gimmick unusable for anything practical -- it misspels too often to be usable for searching. What is worse, if you have text in a bitmap format, you can be certain, for the same reason it is in bitmap, it's too low resolution to be OCR'ed.
Yeah, but in early 90's most of the jobs were still in public sector, where at least some people still tried to play by the rules. Late 90's, on the other hand...
It's fully functional and the most usable GUI on my laptop running Ubuntu 12.04 you insensitive clod! I even tweaked the properties to have fully transparent panels, it looks pretty neat.
Yeah?
Half of applets gone. Panel height does not adjust beyond the size of some arbitrary icon in the theme. Speaking of themes, total of three GTK+ themes actually work consistently, and not ones that anyone likes.
Actually this is an improvement. Fallback mode was mostly a non-functional imitation of a Gnome 2 interface in the minimal default configuration that no one used.
I recommend punch in the face. As if we need more VMWare jockeys who use VMs as a way of running Linux on Windows, and "maintaining" it as if it's a Windows VM.
Yeah -- it kept sane people from trying to get into the government or building empires around their person. Mildly oppressive government is far superior to ones that whores itself to the rich.
I agree, it's great that I was not born in US, got excellent education, and became an engineer. Just imagine what all random Internet trolls would become if they didn't live in a country ruled by greedy sociopaths, with culture rooted in religious extremism and slavery.
Last time I have checked, patents cover inventions implemented as devices and methods. Re-use of the same device for a different purpose is not in itself patentable (ex: I can't re-patent LZW algorithm as a new method of storing data in barcodes, even though application is new and algorithm is useful for this purpose).
lol wut

...are now mandatory!
Congratulations, my Windows-using friends!
I wish, but they are still playing in Libertarians.
Except it didn't happen.

They have paychecks, that greedy employers don't increase to track inflation.
you just need to press alt+right-click to get the menu.
Everyone found it two days after it was released. The problem is, most of it still does not work.

i guess it does get cold there
Especially around the first and, for now, last facility on Earth that launches humans into space. And on top of about 1/5 of the world's Uranium.
Some jokes aren't nearly as funny if people who hear them aren't ridiculously ignorant.
/b/ never was good.
Shut up, Elop, and jump off your burning platform like you preached.

HDFury + HD-PVR.
It won't go beyond 1080i, but MythTV/VDPAU deinterlacing turns 1080i into something perfectly watchable while keeping disk usage low.
You forgot about hypervisor exploits.
If you must use hardware separation, you ***MUST*** ***USE*** ***HARDWARE*** ***SEPARATION***.

More expensive and complex hardware. The mouse already has a USB interface.

That's why you are supposed to order from Lenovo -- then it will be a better laptop, shipped from Shanghai faster.
