  1. Honestly... on What Should I Do With My Life? · · Score: 1

Honestly it's going to take some major thinking before you can actually find out what you want to do for the rest of your working life. Find something that you like to do... such as being a musician, and do it on a part time basis, completly volounteer or something similar. Then if you like it, go ahead and give it a try as more than just a volounteer...

Find something you enjoy doing, with variety, and you'll never work a day in your life... Same old same old, but finding it and doing it is the hard part.

I wish you luck though :/

  2. Bureaucracy... on Mandated Regulation/Certification for Computer Repair? · · Score: 1

People with your mindset create bureaucracy...(By the way, it's kind of a shitty thing!)

Also, most of the people I meet with certifications are certified test passers. They really don't know what everything is simply because experience is the best teacher in this field. You can't learn everything you need to know to be a good technician in a classroom (or at home studying for the test). You simply have to do to learn.

  4. Doctors could do a lot of things.... on Using Sound To Test Internet Connections · · Score: 2, Insightful

But with an audible ping, they could make sure they have a good connection for the delicate procedures.

Sure, there could be a doctor holding two fingers on the jugular of a patient, but that requires another person, and sure they could have a machine that did it for them without sound, but that would require people to be watching it.

Having an audible signal for when something goes wrong makes multitasking easier, and therefore, this could be beneficial.

  5. Re:Why do interviewers use "riddles"? on Tech-Interview Riddles · · Score: 1

Alright. Manhole covers were DESIGNED round so they would not fall through the holes. That was the plan in mind when they were made round. All of that BS you just posted totally circumvented the actual purpose of the design.

Flat out, plain and simple. The reason manhole covers are round is this. The people who designed the manhole covers wanted to make them so the workers would not get injured or drop them in the holes while lifting them. They desinged them to not fall in the hole.

The manhole covers you're talking about are not manhole covers. They're sewer grates and the like.

  6. As a matter of fact... on Quiet PCs, Ducting Air from Case Fan to Heatsink? · · Score: 2, Informative

I have seen that some Compaq machines use this method. I haven't seen them have any problems with heat, or noise. Your idea has been thought of and put into effect long before you thought of it. :) Good going. (This happens to me a lot!)

  7. Honestly, it looks fun on E3 Controller Previews · · Score: 1

I would love to give that controller a go. I think it would be fairly easy to get used to, not having combinations and such to push. Just straight up push what you want when you want it. I like the idea of the throttle on the left and two joysticks for movement. Could also be used quite easily for a tank game. That controller, and ones like it, will deffinately add to the fun of games in the future (As long as it doesn't cost 5000 dollars).

  8. New and Innovative way to close windows! on Gotcha! DNS Popup Scammer Fined $1.9 Million · · Score: 1

In Windows, even though mozilla should be used over IE, hold down alt+f4 and your windows will miraculously dissappear! Wow!

I really don't think what he is doing should be illegal. Frowned upon, sure... but we're heading towards letting the government have too much control over our sovereign Nation. Little actions similar this end up with decisions like The Digital Millennium Copyright Act...!
