We went to Dave & Busters this weekend in Houston. I think the card system is a scam for two reasons. First, you end up with unusable cards with 1.1 credits on them. And Second, you have no idea how much you just spent on a game. We still had fun playing Daytona 500. You just can't replicate a game like that in your home.
The Check E Cheese near us has gone to 1 token per game. It is a much better deal. BUT, they have only 1/5 as many games.
If you've ever attended college and skipped a class, you should know there is absolutely no comparison between being in class and reading the notes on the web later.
In my day, we had no stinking web to read the notes from. If we wanted the notes we had to go to class.;-)
CMGI is up 15% this morning. I bet they are glad they were able to unload Alta Vista.
I still don't understand what Overture is getting for $140 million. Isn't Overture in the pay for placement business and not the search engine business. Has someone told this to management? This seems like a mistake. I guess I need to send them a used copy of F'd Company.
Recently there was an article about a metal plate used to charge batteries. You simply laid your cellphone or pda or whatever on the plate and it recharged. I don't see why there couldn't be a metal plate on the ground. The vaccuum cleaner rolls on top of it and is able to recharge.
The new Palm Zire may be a case where competition is not working. Palm and Pocket PCs are heading in the opposite directions. While Pocket PCs are adding more functions, getting better screens, and adding more memory, Palms are going backwards (Sony is the exception, of course). Microsoft is kicking Palm's butt. Palm is about to be a boiling frog! They should do the honorable thing and sell out to Sony.
Can't you just imagine the U N collecting a domain tax on behalf of the poor?
This is another reason for the US to cut U N funding. Why are we paying dues to this group?
The number of people trying to hitch a ride on a spaceship.
I'm going to laugh when the ipod evolves into the Newton.
It is amazing how much work the French Courts can get done only working 35 hours a week!
Surely, they must have had a course about How to marry a millionaire or billionaire like John Kerry.
Your debating skills are remarkable Brad.
So I am assuming that you agree with the above poster and that the EU decision involved no politics what so ever.
There's a difference between forcing a company to change their ways AND fining them out of existence.
Microsoft should be punished for some of their monopolistic tactics. But this fine is excessive.
The story here is how much power the EU has gained. The fine on Microsoft is extremely high (over 10% of cash reserves.)
This appears to be an Anti-American fine.
The EU could still enforce all of the other restrictions without the confiscatory fine.

Drink caffeine free Diet Coke. It worked for me.
-- Presidents are not elected by popular vote --
Otherwise, states like California (that give driver's licenses to ILLEGAL ALIENS) would have too much influence over elections.

Then you'll have the problem of people putting hits on copyright holders.
This is probably because it is wearing the Cloak of Invisibility.
That's how every business works.
I never figured out why no one attempted to make the 3D video game Jeff Bridges was playing in the movie. Now that would have been an awesome game!
His annual reports will stand the test of time.
This explains why the Drudge Report is so popular. Who's got time to monitor all of the news sources out there?
