I thought Web Start was invoked through file associations for JNLP files, not through the Java plugin. In other words, you could disable the plugin entirely and still be vulnerable to JWS exploits. Is that the case?
The ABC's NewsMail often includes stories like this, with lots of one-sentence paragraphs. I'm pretty sure this is what you get when you publish an unedited TV/radio script as if it were a news article.
" The scientists didn't permanently remove the subjects' moral sensibilities "
I think they mean " The scientists/don't think/ they permanently removed the subjects' moral sensibilities "
If ever there was a question about ethical experiments...
Perhaps the scientists tried it out on themselves first... The magnetism made them do it!
the term itself is misleading, the virus strand might have originated from swine, but the current flu has nothing to do with pigs. The proper term should be Influenza A (H1N1)
Swine flu : two syllables[1]
Influenza A (H1N1): nine syllables
Concise usually beats accurate. Such is life.
[1] Give or take. I'll never understand diphthongs.
Please. Not because I use Dvorak, but because I'm one of those weirdos that uses non-WASD keys. Why should I have to move from the default "home row" keys to navigate? ESDF anyone?
Hey! Go find your own weirdo hangout, this one's for Dvorak weirdos!
I'm currently writing a Firefox extension to do just that. I.e. when you click Menu -> Extra -> Clean Up Private Data in Firefox, this extension will add a checkbox to the list:
"Open Project For Bidding On Elance.com To Let Blackhats Erase Private Data From Remote Machines You Have Visited"
Good idea, but don't forget to "Open Project for another Black Hat to Verify That the Remote Machines' Logs Have Been Cleaned".
Then all you have to do is solve the problem of Eraser Black Hats colluding with the Log-checker Black Hats, taking the money to do nothing...
Pardon my gullibility, but what is it about the seller's text that would tip you off? If it's the misspellings and poor grammar (as others have mentioned), I'm sure there are many businessmen and managers with less than perfect English.

We could fix this tricky programming issue by regularly adjusting the earth's orbit....
The time-honoured approach: fix the software problem in hardware. I like it!
In other words, they used a pretext to get rid of Hurd. HP and pretexts; now why does that ring a bell? ...
Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Those settings are complicated And even now I can't hide 1) my friends list from the public
Just for reference, I think I managed that one based on these instructions: http://news.cnet.com/8301-19518_3-10416524-238.html
> Real physics is cool, but it doesn't often make for good arcade games.
He wrote *physics* based, not *astronomy* based.
And, just to clarify, I'll settle for unreal game "physics" - I just want to see asteroids bouncing off each other instead of passing through.
Modelling light-speed propagation, quantum mechanics and/or quantum gravitation are strictly in the nice-to-have basket.
Hmm. Has anyone done a physics-based remake of Asteroids?
The mods sometimes do mod a good joke "Informative" or "Insightful" to add more fun to it
It's true. It's unfortunate when people don't "get" satirical moderation.
That link seems to be for the 1.00 binaries. These seem to be the 1.10 binaries: http://sourceforge.net/projects/opencvlibrary/files/opencv-win/1.1pre1/OpenCV_1.1pre1a.exe/download
Don't you realise that just pushes the asteroid problem along to the next planet?

Ever notice that DVORAK users are just like those that have no tv in that they have to tell every single person they meet about it?

Not all of us. I tend to wait until someone tries to use my keyboard, and they wonder why their keyboard skills have turned into gibberish generation.

Just when you thought it was safe to forget Sony Rootkit... ...
Sony Lockpick!
Every time you achive a high score, a Sony executive breaks into an actual room of your house to deliver a shiny trophy.
What do you mean, worthless green glass? But it's so shiny!
Urban grade? Do they taste better or worse than so-called premium grade?
Wait. You're saying Joe Sixpack still trusts record labels?
I'm sure you're right, but wow! I *am* out of touch. Sony's rootkit was the last straw for me, but I suppose that isn't currently an issue for Joe.
