A computer program is programmed to run efficient... if it is to be efficient in diagnosing an illness and suggesting what treatments should be done to alleviate the ailment, one of those treatment options will always be death. It is the most efficient way in "curing" the patient...
Let's just hope that the actual treatment is left up to a "smart" human who knows that death isn't a always an option...
I also hope that the patient can still get a second opinion.
They waste their time and money to "escape reality" only to find themselves back in the whole after purchasing said equipment, even if they got this stuff for "free" they would still use that money on frivilous things. It's a vicious cycle because people who do that are weak. Rich people are no different. There are those born with a silver spoon and waste it all and end up on the street.
The smart people are those that limit themselves from temptation and use their time, money and energy to generate wealth, and not just wealth in terms of more money, which is a given, but wealth in knowledge, beauty and health.
I've gone through this and sorta still in that vicious cycle due to my love of videogames. I can devote all of my time to learn about the stock market, VMWare, Linux, etc but OMG DIablo3 is so addictive. At least now I don't upgrade because I have a PC capable of playing all of my games and is approximately 2.5 years old. I'm slowly "growing up" because my savings is growing while my student loans, car payment are getting paid off, thanks to a good job.
even minute, the Italian government can arrest the engineers and scientists, just like they did to the seismologists who failed at correctly predicting an earthquake that killed hundreds of people.
If access to the Internet is free OR if it is cheap and unlimited, either connecting through a land line or using a wireless device, such as a cell phone, then this will help people save money.
90% of my "television" entertainment comes from the Internet. I used to have cable, but realized it was outdated - I barely watched all the shows and most of the time, nothing good was on and was tired of watching Family Guy on four different channels!!!
My parents are also saving close to $100 a month when they turned off cable and are now only subscribed to netflix. They are going out more, eating at locally owned restaurants - basically enjoying the outside world a bit more....
No, no... America needs to work harder for lower pay!!! I mean it's working in all other countries, such as in southeast Asia and all other poor countries.. why no here??
Not everyone had internet acces in 1993.... I didn't get online until 1998.
Before that (1998), we had two copies of Encarta. I had the first version for Windows 95/3.1 and then Encarta 97. I thought it was cool hearing the sounds a dolphin made on my computer in the first version of Encarta. I got hooked on it and would look through its articles and pictures. I even used it many times for my school work before I learned to use the Internet.
Encarta was an essential software bundle for the home PC for families during the mid 90s.
My grand parents knew friends who were arrested as they were suspected communists during the witch hunt years McArthur was going after people who simply had an opinion about the government...
There was an article on slashdot not too long ago about websites that pay you to act as a small "shipping/receiving" drop point for these illegal online pharmacies...
I try and search it, but slashdot search doesn't really bring it up...
Seriously, the technology is here to allow for fully autonomous driving. The government just needs to come up with the funding to install all of the sensors and implement regulations that require all manufacturers to include these in ALL vehicles.
Driving is a privelege, not a right. If we want our roads to be truly safe then we should have computers do the driving for us. Again, the technology is here (straight from wikipedia):
Autonomous cars are not in widespread use, but their introduction could produce several direct advantages:
Fewer crashes, due to the autonomous system's increased reliability compared to human drivers[1] Increased roadway capacity due to reduced need of safety gaps[2] and the ability to better manage traffic flow.[1] Relief of vehicle occupants from driving and navigation chores.[1] Removal of constraints on occupant's state - it would not matter if the occupants were too young, too old or if their frame of mind were not suitable to drive a traditional car. Furthermore, disabilities would no longer matter.[3] Elimination of redundant passengers - humans are not required to take the car anywhere, as the robotic car can drive empty to wherever it is required.[3] Alleviation of parking scarcity as cars could drop off passengers, park far away where space is not scarce, and return as needed to pick up passengers. Indirect advantages are anticipated as well. Adoption of robotic cars could reduce the number of vehicles worldwide,[4][5] reduce the amount of space required for vehicle parking,[6] and reduce the need for traffic police and vehicle insurance.
This will not only "eliminate" accidents, but also decrease emmissions, and save money....
At my local Bravo and Aldi supermarket. You can buy very cheap garlic cloves. A pack of 3 whole garlics for $1.50 compared to $3.50 for a package of four at my local publix. The reason it's so cheap is that they are from China.
Because of Black Friday around the corner and other holidays coming up. I tend to buy my large capacity HDDs online due to insanely low prices.
But now it looks like I cannot afford them and will have to look into buying refurbished hdds.
Believe it or not, 1/4 of my drives I bought as refurbed and have yet to crap out *knock on wood*, so if you want a cheap large capacity HDD, then a refurb drive might be your only option if their prices do not shoot sky high as the brand new ones...
I might also have better luck scoring a cheap drive locally...
Well, for-profit private schools should be blamed. Using car-salesman tactics they managed to convince students from low-income areas to go to their private, non-accredited school to be able to obtain a career that is most likely non-existant.
These schools take the maximum amount the student can borrow and they don't give a cent back to the student for what's left-over after tuition/books because they take care of everything for the student. The student doesn't realize how much they borrowed until AFTER they graduate.
Of course, you also have the poor art/sociology/psychology (anything non-engineering or science related) students who want to have a $5,500 apple laptop to facebook and twitter while they rack up a $100,000 student loan debt...
Combine those things together and you have a trillion dollar student loan debt...
I'm actually paying a bit more on my minimum loan payment as I only borrowed less than $26k for my college education. I went to school full-time and worked full-time, so those who decided to borrow to live off of it, then they should pay it back, no matter what.

It's not always lupus.

A corporate sellout....
If you wanted a hook-up, you went to a bar.
If you wanted a girl you could marry and bring to your parents, you went to church.
Now it's like this....
If you want a hook-up, go to match or similar (free) websites
If you want to find a girl you might marry go to eharmony
If you just want a hooker you go craigslist...
My grand parents knew friends who were arrested as they were suspected communists during the witch hunt years McArthur was going after people who simply had an opinion about the government...

You'd be surprised how many school buses in America are poorly taken care of.....

Biker Mice from Mars is what we'll get from that...
Terra Nova has been quite entertaining, so far. Hope I didn't just jinx the show now that I mentioned that....

The committee was like having a deer convince a wolf not to eat him and the wolf trying to convince the deer that it should be eaten.
Take two polarizing political topics, put them in a room and you will get a stand still, especially when elections are just around the corner....

A chinese person will reply that there was no egg, simply a reversed-engineered chicken to form another chicken :)
