What you should do is connect the iPod's output to some sort of valve on your fart pipe which can control the noise, thereby turning your muffler into a raspy, low quality subwoofer!
Every review I've seen on these chips has pictures of the CPU and the socket with the CPU in it. I haven't seen one with some good pictures of an empty socket.
Anyone have any links to any? Does this new chip just rest on the pins or is there some more positive mounting method (besides that cover that goes over the CPU)?
I can tell you from personal experience that crossing a proton is a BAD IDEA. Those bastards have a really short temper. I'd say 10(-24) is a pretty conservative estimate of how long it takes to piss a proton off.
If you use nightlies, pay attention when installing stuff from update.mozilla.org. There is a bug that will allow you to try and install an extension even if the extensions says it doesn't support your version.
This is important because nightlies off the Aviary branch (where 0.9 came from) now have their version set as 0.9.0+ instead of 0.9.0. Even though there is little different at this point between the 0.9 release and the current Aviary nightlies, some extensions will refuse to work and will be stuck telling you "this extension will be installed the next time Firefox is restarted". Not a big deal as you can just uninstall the extension, but annoying nonetheless.
This should be a temporary thing though, as I'm sure extension authors will quickly modify their extensions to say they support 0.9.0+ instead of just 0.9.0.
Setting the user's shell to/bin/false would stop you from being able to login via telnet/ssh/etc., but if that can execute programs, which it must be able to do for CGI-BIN to work, then you can run this exploit. I guess conceptually the web server is the "shell", as input comes from the server and the programs output is sent back to the web server.
It annoys me when people try to insert spurious links to the iPod in their stories. For most of them, there is absolute nothing about the story related to the iPod, but people still like to throw in a random iPod link in the hopes that the editors will think it's a buzz worthy story.
For something like a shared webserver though, this won't help. I could just compile the program, upload it into my cgi-bin directory, and run it via my web browser.
Exactly. You seemed to be implying that there was some causality between D.C.'s tight gun control laws and the high crime rate there. I was giving evidence that that isn't the case.
Oftentimes the jingles used for commercials are more catchy than the actual songs the station plays. I always get Chipotle's "hey hey burrito lady" song stuck in my head, and I have several dozen Budweiser "real american hero" commercials downloaded on my computer:)
I live in Dallas, and like most places in Texas people like their guns. Yet we still have been on top of the murder, rape, etc. charts for seven years now.
That's not the "real" price, it's one of those limited quantity specials to get people in the door. The regular asking price of the XP 2500+ was, I believe, close to $90 for the retail version when I was there this weekend.
X.org is the organization that maintains the X standards. It's a pretty good bet that, since they're the ones maintaining the standard, they'll make sure their own distribution adheres to them.
Most wiki sandboxes will let you modify them without any sort of registration at all, so it's much more time effective than signing up for a bunch of discussion boards, waiting for the validation emails, etc. They also probably have a higher average page rank than most discussion boards and blogs would, so a little goes a long way.
AllOfMP3 pays licensing fees to the Russian equivalent of the RIAA, when then distributes the money to the artists.
Will the artist see less money from a download off of AllOfMP3 than a download off of iTunes? Probably. But at least the artist still gets something, compared to downloading off of a P2P where they get nothing at all.
Outlook Express and recent version of Outlook also let you connect to your Hotmail account using Hotmail's httpmail interface. Once you have that set up, you can just copy the messages from your Hotmail inbox into a local mail folder just like you would from any other folder.
It's not unrequested. If you signed up for Hotmail, you agreed to get a few marketing offers. That is the price of using a free email provider instead of one that costs money.
A quick look at gtk-gnutella's page shows that it only supports Gnutella. Shareaza supports EDonkey, BitTorrent, and it's own Gnutella2 as well, and can swarm your download across all four networks.
In the episode where Homer goes to work on an oil well, they show a map of Springfield and the east and west sides are adjacent. It's not a seperate city.
What you really need is to get some guys proficient in Silbo. Use them to send messages back and forth and they can convert the messages into Ethernet messages.
If you get people fast enough, you could even do teleconferencing over this link. Voice Over IP Over Voice (VOIPOV).
I believe the "Recently Updated" list on MT's webpage has always required payment (or donation, as was the case before). This presumably doesn't affect the other free "recently updated" lists out there.
It depends on how you look at it. As a physical media, CD-R may not last very long compared to a vinyl record. But from a data point of view, the data can last forever. Everytime you play the record, it degrades a little bit, and you can't copy it without introducing more degradation. However, with a CD-R you can create a fresh copy of it every year and the 10th generation will be exactly the same as the 1st (more or less anyway).

There is a hybrid Honda Accord coming in the near future that will have this feature. The hybrid Accord will use the V6 engine and will be able to disable half of the cylinders.
