    What is wrong with him doing this and staying like this forever?

    I mean, he should stop doing something just because "other people who know better" say that he should stop?

    Should he stop becuase he could get into civil legal problems? That doesn't stop lots of "adults".

    Should he stop because its "wrong"? Maybe some one could tell me where this is ethically wrong becuase I don't see it.

    I say that he should keep doing what he likes to do and accept the consequences until he feels he shoudn't anymore and not what other people say.

    Because in the end its his life.

    Not really,

    HL has pretty sad graphics, even when it first came out. But ask anyone about head-crabs and crow-bars.

    As anyone about quake1 crates.

    Doctors have to go through this sort of training. They have to stay with case patients for 72 hours straight because they have to experience the entire care process (when patient gets in until he leaves).

    I would be dead if I thought that programming is just going through a 100 page spec and doing only that.

    You miss out on alot such as why you are doing it, how it can be done better (in a different way) or going the extra distance and really impressing the client.

    With Design Patterns and OO and better computers the work people who need things speced out to the nth degree will get replaced by better comptuer tools.

    1. Claim that this version fixes all bugs, works perfectly and logically and will finally seal M$ coffin.
    2. Claim that competing product X is dead.
    3. Claim that this product is dead, since similar product X is obviously much superiour.

    Travelling at 55 miles per hour, in one second you have travelled 80 feet.

    Even with perfect context-switching, thats a large enough distance for lots to happen.

    If you are 100% legally responsible in an accident depends on many things besides if you are "ethically/morally" responsible. One big factor is how good your lawyer is and how crappy your insurance company is.

    At best you can say that this is the case most of the time. Its that rare time which its a pretty complex thing which could have serious consequences. Thats the part you don't want to get into.

    See how the US literially bought peace in that part of the world a few years ago.

    And if it came down to it, China would join in too. That way they could sell more stuff in replace of India/Pakistan.

    I heard that Doctorate degrees are not equivlant to docterate degrees in the US.

    Indian doctorate degress ~= Master degress in US.

    I'm Canadian and I don't feel relaxed if we did have nuclear weapons.

    You are taking the same position that the US does. "Hey, we are not going to use them wrongly."

    If they have them, they can use them. All it takes is one messed up situation.

    Source control really shines when you work with multiple people.

    If you are working alone, then its worth it if you want to track down the date and exact changes you made.

    There are two ways to go about doing business.

    You can be the big, for-the-masses, beat-them-with-price company. Examples of these are Wal-Mart and McDonalds.

    You can be the small, speciality, beat-them-with-loyalty/quality company. Examples of these are Gucci and Apple.

    As long as they steadly increase profit each year, why should Apple change their ways?

    That amount of time is a good justification to actively skip commericals.

    Um... why would a store accept returns on one of its busiest days of the years?

    Why would you spend time toreturn something if you know that this is one of busiest day of the years and there are deals/sales out there that go fast? Why go to a store if you know that it will be crowded/parking will be horrible?

    Look at the news. Line ups of people BUYING, not RETURNING.
