I don't think the picture is very good at all.. My first though was that I could make it in photoshop. What's to tell me they didn't. The whole report on it is also just assumption, they write 2 pages on what it is, so next week when they figure out they were wrong, they can revise it. Then everyone who read the first report and misses the revision can walk around being stupid by knowing false information.
a room with many comps and many cables... why dont you put all your pop hardware and cabling into a closet... uhmm i think it's called a wiring closet.. I'm sure if they put fibre into a home, there will be a wiring closet, it wouldn't make sense without it
Alot of people suggest just switching to something else. Obviously, they don't want to. I use sendmail all the time, I love sendmail. If this was a windows app, i might switch, but being opensource as it is, when the holes are discovered, they are patched pretty quickly. I don't really see much point is saying switch to qmail or something else, people who want to use sendmail will keep using it.
That's a good point, my college gave copies of vistual studio.NET pro to compsci students free (MSDNAA) So I wasn't aware of that problem. For the price you have to pay for either standard or pro, you figure it would at least work as you expect it to.
I think right now, they are so unsure of where they are going with this that the show really doesn't matter. Since the testing began, i've seen rumors of home versions and the like. The final product will most likely dramatically change from what is shown at the show.
I thought i could be cool and show off my knowledge of farming by telling you all this has been being done for... a long time.. but.. i'm late:( oh well
I didn't buy the extended warranty:( which screwed me, since i fried it again, and i was over my 13 days.:( so i bought another, at least they're under 100$ now, i paid 200 when i bought mine originally
I had a real3d starfighter agp, which came with a heatsink on it, and holes around it to screw a fan in, but now i have an ati all in wonder pro 128, and no holes for a fan, so im wondering, what other ways can I attach a fan to the card? Mine gets VERY hot, running at normal speed.
When i first got my 1.4ghz athlon, i didn't have my fan yet, i ordered the mc462 fan, which was highly recomended on tomshardware. anyhow, it wasn't here yet, and i/HAD/ to test it out, well, i turned on the sys, and within 4 seconds heard a loud pop and the smell of buring silicon filled the room. Needless to say, the cpu was destroyed:( Thankfully, the company replaced it for free
I looked at this and immediately remembered an article i read concerning the bind exploitations. A man coded a worm, which went to all suceptible boxes, exploited the bind hole, gained root access, patched the holes, and proceeded to the next systems to continue it's work. It worked quite well, and you can all say hi to him when he gets out of prison. Whether your intentions are good or not, if you code something that enters another's system without their explicit permission, you are breaking the law. It may be a great idea, and I think it is, but is it worth dealing with the law?
the hero only leaped 300 years into the future according to his clock as he passed through, so the time really depends on whether or not the main ship stayed in current time, or went to the past.
What about Microsoft's up and coming C# language that is supposedly arriving with.NET What effect will this have on any other programming languages? In my school, DeVRY Tech, they use Microsoft visual c++ and visual basic, i think they will continue to use whatever microsoft puts out..
I don't think it's media at all, I think it's Janet Reno, must be why her ass got canned.. Every time I saw her, I felt the urge to go out and slaughter innocents...
I fail to see the relevance of these comments, obviously most of you are in agreement that bugtraq is, at the least, coming out with the bugs at the same time, possibly before hand. If CERT decides to charge, it really doesn't affect any of us, because there are still free alternatives, which most of you read anyways.

actually, I had the first post, thanks though :)
Well, I'm a systems admin for the army, and you know what? I am almost positive every sysadmin job's salary is higher than mine.

Why would they want this law. I don't see the point

I just read , maybe 4 days ago, that they had it. The army uses it pretty extensively too, and has been for quite some time.
don't be an ignorant jackass. I'm from New England, and I think it's bs too :p
to be honest, the first thing i thought of was a mud based game when i read console, which is why i had to look real quick at the blizzard site :)
visiontek made the best versions (and most expensive) of geforce cards
are you forgetting the connection charge that you pay for every call you make, no matter how long?
since when do 99% of these attacks come from compromised windows boxes. I do believe you are mistaken.

uh, you are kinda moronic.. he pasted a story from someone else, who knew linus... as you would know had you read the beginning.

Best response to this article I've seen. It all ends up leading back to the parents, not video games in the end.
